Visiting the ruins at Pompeii was a highlight of the trip for us! We took public transportation to Pompeii where we booked our own guided tour of Pompei. We loved it and spent the majority of our day there, then took the train back to Naples. We had about 1 hour to do a little souvenir shopping, get a pizza, and get back to the ship.

Walked 200 paces to the ferry terminal and went on the Hydrofoil, fast ferry, to Capri. The Blue Grotto was closed that day, so very disappointed. But we went on a nice boat ride around Capri. Probably not worth all the money we paid to get there. We prebooked our Ferry tickets online with Mr. Ferry. The second time in the port, we went on a full day excursion to Sorrento and Pompeii. Definitely worth the money to do both.

We booked an excursion with Italy tours, excellent. They took us to Pompeii, which was absolutely something to see. Hard to believe that people back hundreds of years ago could build structures that can stand up to time. They also took us along the Amalfi coast absolutely gorgeous, spent a little over an hour in Soronno. Very busy city, but we did find another hole in the wall restaurant that had the best cannollis
