This is a beatiful island. They are still recoving from hurrican Irma but are making a come back. We would definately enjoy more time here, maybe even flying in. They do need tourist to make a come back and to survive.

Mostly good and friendly people. Everything is organized. Price is moderate for food and cheap for beers $2. Good beach, and water, but very tightly packed at the main beach. Almost felt like conveyor. Will try Maho next time.. I am taking off 2 stars for constant harassing of sales women at the beach. No matter if you at the French or Dutch Beach, you will get inundated by offers of massage and clothes while lying down and chilling. This happens at the intervals of 5-10 minutes. If you start arguing, or complaining, they begin to hiss and make faces. I think we said "No thank you" at least 30 times. So there. Everyone is making a killing there. We saw the same beach chair and umbrella sold for $35 3 times. A little peace would be in order.

This was our favorite port - We will likely come back and make a vacation solely of St. Maarten. We took the Billy Bones tour and it was well worth it. The boat was so much fun (free drinks on board - can't beat it). We stopped at multiple destinations and snorkeled in the beautiful water - I saw my first sea turtle in the wild - it was AMAZING! We stopped at a private island beach and walked around which was cool, and then got lunch at a local restaurant and the food was great. This tour was well worth the money and I would do it 100 times over.
