The port is showing wear and tear! It’s sad to see some of the retail spaces unoccupied. We did not take the water taxi and walked into town which wasn’t far at all. We we able to see some retail shops and bars along the way that are often missed. The Blue B*tch has great wings! Not as hot as I’d hoped but still great! Walk all the way down the beach to the end and enjoy the FREE sand! It’s nice and uncrowded!

Our last visit to Philipsburg was before the hurricane 5 years ago. We did not expect the amount of damage that was done, along with the economics of two years of COVID lockdown of the cruise port. Several favorite haunts of ours are no longer in business.

We chose an island tour here, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The French side is heartbreaking due to the lack of rebuilding and repair from a hurricane years ago. The Dutch side is much more lively and has some gorgeous beaches!

Got to drive around the island with several stops, went to French side of island. Our driver was our tour guide and he entertained us with stories.

We did not do an excursion here. We did get off the boat and went to the port and took the ferry across the way. I’ll say this is my second time here and not my favorite stop. Of all the stops the shop vendors here are a little more aggressive as far as standing in front of their stores trying to get you inside.

Maho Beach is okay if you want to watch the planes come in. Beach was very small and over crowded. There is nicer places to see.
