Carnival Freedom

March 2015 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Freedom

Met great people!

I'd have to say that we met more nice people on the Freedom than on any of our previous cruises.  We had never left out of Galveston before, and we probably won't do it again!  It was foggy and flooding the day we left, so the boat was late boarding, and it was a mess!  However, getting off the boat was another story--really quick!  A few negatives:  security was in question in the stateroom.  The safe had to be locked and unlocked with a credit card.  How secure is that?  Also, the food wasn't as good as other Carnival cruises that we've been on.  Last, the cruise director, Jen, was terrible!

We had a great time this year on the Liberty! It was our second time on this ship, but it had been updated since our first cruise on it in 2009. We actually didn't leave the ship at any of the ports of call. The first port we had been to before, so we weren't interested in going again. The second was Belize, and since it was tendered and it was very high seas, we decided not to get off. We heard that we had made a good decision on that! The 3rd port was Mahogany Bay, and it was canceled due to poor conditions. The last port was Grand Cayman, and it was also tendered. Although the seas were okay, for some reason they decided to anchor at the opposite end of the island, requiring a taxi to get to the town. Because of that, we decided to stay on the ship. So, that was kind of a bummer. We usually have enjoyed staying on the ship, and while we did have fun, I'd have to say the food was not as good as we have enjoyed in the past. For one thing, they changed the fries! (My husband had dreamed for two years of the fries by the pool, and he was sadly disappointed!)
