Not only is the Port of Charleston the most horrible port to sail from, the Fantasy has taken a definite turn for the worse.  The pool area was not well serviced at all...plates, cups, trash sat around while staff walked by intent on selling drinks.  They actually seemed put out when we asked for a table to be cleared.  The men's restroom on the LIDO deck was under construction and inaccessible.  And,  BTW, avoid the front of this ship when choosing a state room.  We we're offer an upgrade and should have stayed INSIDE, instead.  At 2:30AM on the first night we had engineering in our room trying to explain to us why it sounded (and FELT) like we were sleeping over a bowling alley!  Apparently the waves slapping the front of the ship were "normal and expected." With almost 25 years of cruising under our belts and Platinum status on Carnival, we can honestly say "This was the worse cruise we have ever been on".  What a shame!  We love Carnival and would love to be able to sail more often from our home state, but we're thinking that a drive to Florida is worth the trouble!
