Good ship, excursions an issue
The Getaway is a very nice ship, well maintained and staffed by great service personnel. The cruise itself had three days at sea and the activities available on the ship were good. We particularly liked the Ropes Course, Wall climb and the water tubes but much more were available. The talent level of the stage performers was very, very good, with the "Burn the Floor" dancers being exceptional. However, the stage presentations were limited and repeated. This is the first time 1n our 5 cruises that this has happened. On each of our 4 cruises, we attended a stage show each evening. This cruise we watched a movie two nights.
The main issue we had on this cruise was the quality of the excursions, at least the ones we took. We always do a land tour as we do not have much time in each place and we want to see as much as possible. We did not feel these tours were quality products, especially the "See and Sea" at Nassau. The "see" (land tour) was about 1/2 hour and basically drove us to an old fort, gave us 15 minutes to look (and buy from the local vendors) and then drove us to the pier for the "sea" part. This was also disappointing.
To summarize, the Cruise Ship was very good and the land excursions mediocre to poor. So choose your excursions wisely.
Very good but it can also be a long walk, depends on where your ship docks.
Norwegian Getaway
We ate almost all our meals in the Taste and Savor restaurants. Highly recommend these facilities. Also we always go with an inside cabin as the only time we are in the cabin is to clean up or sleep.
