What Do You think of MSC cruises?

I had booked a cruise on the Seaside for my grandson and I...after reading a number of 'not-so-great' reviews, I made the decision to cancel. That being said, has anyone had actual experience on an MSC cruise (more specifically, Seaside) and what is your opinion? Would you sail with them again?

My sister and I sailed last month on the Divina. I was concerned about the cruise, having read many negative reviews...nearly cancelled. What a mistake that would have been! We had one of the best vacations ever and have already booked for next year. The ship was very clean, the staff was the most friendly and eager to please that we’ve ever encountered and the food was great. We liked that MSC is different from other cruises and has passengers who don’t all speak English as their first language. Keep an open mind and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

MSc has become our favorite cruise line. Service great, food good entertainment the best. These are some of the most beautiful ship on the ocean. One negative is trying to deal with their systems. You need to speak with a a human.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.

I spent a two weeks back to back cruise February 16-23 and 23 to March 2nd. This was our first time on MSC and our 14th cruise overall. It’s a nice ship. As clean as all the others. Dining room service was excellent most of the time. Food comparable to all other ships in this class. Bar service with all the all inclusive liquor promos was slow sometimes ridiculously slow but that’s expected. They have less staff per passenger than carnival or NCL from what I recall but not overtly detrimental. Buffet at lunch is identical every day. Otherwise food is fine. Shows are ok, the Michael Jackson show was excellent as was the short opera. No live bands on lido deck pool so missed that. Same entertainment in main bar every night. Casino is smaller than expected and no craps tables but otherwise just as terrible for gamblers as all others. I would book again no questions asked.

Thanks! I'm a certified travel agent and I've sailed on just about every cruise line except MSC. Most of the reviews were about how the crew was 'stand-offish' and how small the portions were at dining. I lived in Europe for almost 7 years, so I'm accustomed to that aspect of things but what sealed my decision to cancel was the uncleanliness of the ship. Several reviews made remarks about "odd smells" and how the cabins were not cleaned in a timely manner and having to ask for towels...sometimes I overthink things Nervous Thanks again..I'll read your review.

I sailed Seaside last fall and I'm disappointed you canceled haha! The cruise line is notorious for some service issues, not in the way of friendliness but in the logistics of it all. Aside from that though, I had a fantastic cruise. The ship is beautiful, lots to do, the food delicious, it was a great time. Also, the entertainment was the best I've ever seen on a cruise.

Here's my review if you want to take a look, and if you ever decide to book it again don't worry too much about the bad reviews! Like I said, service logistics are the main issues to me, but it didn't stop me from having a good time. https://cruiseline.com/ship/msc-seaside/review/486118

Friends of mine have cruised with MSC, though not on the ship you have reference They had a great time.
