This might be a dumb question, but can you use any type of card to turn the lights on in your Norwegian Cruise Line Cabin?

We use business cards most of the time.

If I were to use a card other than the sign and sail card it would be an old hotel key card. If left in slot and then taken there are no worries.

Great Thank you!!! I'm going with a group and I wanted to put this in the gift bag. Happy

Yes absolutely. Any card will work. But sometimes if you leave it there the room steward will pocket it when he leaves the room. That happened on our last cruise on the Breakaway. Soon as we discovered it we asked the steward. He said he was so used to removing his card on the way out that he took it and later when he realized he had an extra was not sure which cabin it came from. After that it always stayed put.

Ahhhh got it now. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for the info ncldn and moewinn.

On the newer NCL ships they use your card to turn on the lights. im going on th Bliss and it has the key card for the lights

A good question. Some of Carnival's newer ships have the same option. Always used the sign and sail card. Would like to get an answer to the question you raised.

Guess I'm missing something here.

I didn't use any card to turn on any lights the two times I've gone on a NCL cruise. Also I've never used any card on any cruise to turn on lights. Just the ol' fashioned push the button light switches are all I've seen on a cruise. I admit I haven't been on NCL in over a year and a half, could be I'm missing something.

Maybe you can elaborate more on your question???
