For everybody who will read this topic, or will plan to cruise with Uniworld River Cruises, whether is first time cruiser, occasional cruiser, repeater, or came here occasionally on this forum please read this letter very carefully and to the end, because it’s very important about cruising experience with Uniworld River Cruises. We who are writing this letter are tree closely related American families and we don’t want to uncover our names, we want to stay anonymous but read this topic everybody it’s very important because what happened to us cruising with Uniworld, will make sure never happened to you. We know everything about cruising because one of our member from our families worked as shop manager in gift shop on board Royal Caribbean cruise ships, and we cruised many time with American ocean cruise lines. Last summer we – three close families, decided to cruise on rivers in Europe, because we’ve heard, it’s something unforgettable and completely different experience than ocean cruising. After carefully checking all the European river cruise lines and offers, we decided to cruise with Uniworld River Cruises, because of unparellal awards it has received as cruise line, luxury and expensive cruises, great destinations and unique boutique cruising. We choose the ship, cruise and destination and we pay tens of thousands dollars each one of us for the cruise, and we board one of the Uniworld river cruise ships. On the embarkation and first day everything seems nice and wonderful, everything went smoothly and as it should be. But the next day in the morning when the cabin attendant - an official employee from Uniworld come to set up our room my husband recognize the cabin steward as a former employee of Royal Caribbean, because and my husband worked there as shop manager on that same company. That person the cabin steward was Mr. Goran Catanic of Serbian nationality. It’s nothing wrong and bad to recognize somebody which you knew and worked together on same company, but the problem was that this person the cabin attendant - Mr. Goran Catanic was fired from Royal Caribbean because of stealing jewelry and expensive watches from gift shop exactly where my husband was manager. When my husband ask him, how he got the employment on this luxury and high class river cruise line, he answered that he simply qualify for the job and that Uniworld River Cruises employed him. More strange is that on Royal Caribbean this person worked as ass.waiter and that’s different department than he worked here as cabin attendant. Ok, no problem said my husband and everybody with his own luck, and the cruise continues. On the day before the last day of the cruise, when we come back for lunch on ship after the venture outside, our family friends noticed that their anniversary ring which they left in their room before going out, - vanished. We asked our self what could happen, how the ring suddenly disappeared, we checked everywhere but the ring was nowhere to be found. It doesn’t take long to occur to us to know what happened and who did it. We tell to our family friends about this person cabin attendant Mr. Goran Catanic, that he was fired from Royal Caribbean exactly for that of stealing the jewelry and after that we straight went everywhere on the ship to report about this, even to the captain, and they assure us that they will make everything what is in their power to resolve this case. And the day passed and nothing happened about resolving this, and following day was our last day of the cruise, and we needed to disembark. We ask captain and others responsible what happened about the ring and whether they find it. They said to us that they have done everything what is in their power, that they interviewed every employee on ship, and that they search the cabin of Mr. Goran Catanic, but they didn’t find nothing. They apologize to us with the kindness words and they asked us whether we are sure that we left the anniversary ring inside our room, or that maybe we forgot the ring at home and didn’t took at all on this cruise vacation, or that maybe we took the ring outside the ship and maybe we lost somewhere outside. But we know and we are 100% sure that we left the anniversary ring inside the room, and from this moment we noticed that the ship management started to switch the fault on our side. The anniversary ring was a gift from our family friend to his wife for 30 years happy marriage, it was pure 24 carat diamond and cost about seven thousand dollars. So imagine now, to cruise with one of the best, luxury and expensiest river cruise line in the world, to pay ten of thousand dollars per person for the cruise, and on top of that to get rubbed from something what was dearest and very expensive in your life. So the cruise finished, we disembark, the ring was never found, and we tell them that we will settle this on court when we will come back to US, because by the cruise arrangement we needed to be compensate of similar amount by the cost of the ring. And imagine at the end the ship management were so rut, that they said, do whatever you like but you either never took that ring with you, or you lost somewhere outside. Ok we said, and when we come back to US we file straight a case on court against Uniworld River Cruises. What is our point, for all of you future cruisers with Uniworld River Cruises that you should don’t believe at nothing what you will read on their web site, or other media, magazines and so on, that they are one of the best river cruise line in the world, that they received so many awards, etc. They have people everywhere in all tourist associations, organizations and magazines worldwide, because they are very big franchise, and they bribe powerful people there to write the best words for them and to give them awards. My husband is direct witness because he recognize the fired thief and crook Mr. Goran Catanic from same company where they worked before, and Uniworld Cruises gave to that former criminal employment. And if you read on their website about their employees, like - all the best words for them, that they choose the best in the world and so on, do not believe at nothing every word there is lie. So before you decide to cruise with Uniworld Cruises think ten times, check more sources of information possible what you can find everywhere, and ask people what you know if they cruised already with Uniworld Cruises. We think we helped and we gave very good information for all the future cruisers with Uniworld Cruises whether they will decide to cruise with Uniworld Cruises or not, because it is not a game to pay ten of thousand dollars per cruise, and on the end to stay without dearest and best gift in your life.
