Great for our first Cruise
Carnival Splendor
Sail date: May 15, 2016
This was our first cruise... food was great, met some fun people, plenty to keep people of all ages busy. The only downside was the pools are very small and not deep even the adult pool was only a little over 4 ft deep. Before booking the cruise a lot of people complained about the tacky décor... I found the décor whimsical with an inspiration from Dr. Seuss. Excursions are a bit overpriced... went through a different vendor and saved tons of money. We got the bubbles soda package for the week, reasonably priced for around $36.00 a person, we did not buy the cheers package that was around $56 a per person per day. My other gripe was the boarding and debarking process on the first and last day of the cruise. It was very unorganized and created many unnecessary lines. Then once you board the ship and begin to get settled, they have a practice Muster drill... again more waiting in lines in the heat. I understand it is for our safety, but it was something that could have been explained in a video. or done by individual muster groups.
my favorite... best excursions!
Climbing the duns river falls was a fun experience but definitely more challenging than advertised.
