Norwegian Encore Set to Receive Updates to Dining, Staterooms, and More
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that Norwegian Encore will undergo extensive updates later this year. The ship will receive upgrades to two popular dining venues, redesigned suites in The Haven, and 24 new balcony staterooms.
To complete these upgrades, Norwegian Encore will undergo a two-week dry dock from Nov. 18, 2024 to Dec. 2, 2024.
“Our guests’ wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that,” said David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From more space for adults to relax, to more opportunities to enjoy their favorite dining options and beyond, we are dedicated to providing our guests with an elevated onboard experience as part of their dream vacation.”
All new enhancements will perfectly complement the ship’s existing family-friendly offerings such as the Norwegian Encore Speedway, Aqua Park, and the Galaxy Pavilion virtual reality complex.
Norwegian Encore is already highly-regarded for guest satisfaction, as resulted by the results of our Best Norwegian Cruise Line Ships for 2024. This year, Norwegian Encore received the title of Best Norwegian Cruise Line Ship for Dining and Best Norwegian Cruise Line Ship for Onboard Activities/Entertainment. These results are based on member review data from all NCL ships in the previous year. We can only see the new upgrades the ship is receiving helping to keep Norwegian Encore’s rankings high in the coming years.
Addition of Spice H2O
In its refurbishment, Norwegian Encore will receive a new Spice H2O, the adults-only outdoor area. The space is being designed by NCL’s longtime design partner, Studio Dado.
Spice H2O will replace the ships’ current laser tag arena. It will combine elements of Spice H2O from the Breakaway-Plus Class with those from Infinity Beach of the latest Prima Class vessels. This included the addition of multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds surrounded by cooling pools, and a new bar.
Dining Upgrades
Two of Norwegian Encore’s dining venues will be expanded - Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki. Teppanyaki, the ship’s hibachi-style eatery, will take over Los Lobos’ footprint on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six.
Additionally, Ocean Blue restaurant will be converted to the guest-favorite eatery Palomar, serving Mediterranean seafood.
Suite & Stateroom Additions
To complement the demand NCL has seen for three-bedroom suites aboard Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva, and Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Encore’s Premier Owner’s Suites with Large Balcony in The Haven by Norwegian will be expanded from two bedrooms to three.
These two suites will also see the addition of an extra bathroom (to total out to three and a half bathrooms), a fully renovated living room, an elevated master bedroom, new outdoor balcony furniture, and a new separate dining room.
The Haven by Norwegian is NCL’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship area, featuring a concierge service, a private pool, a restaurant, and a bar.
Norwegian Encore will also receive an additional 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge.
Itineraries
Once the ship completes its two-week dry dock in December, Norwegian Encore will embark on a 12-day Transatlantic voyage from Southampton to Miami. It will offer seven-day, round-trip sailings to the Caribbean through March 2025, with calls to Puerto Plata, Tortola, St. Thomas, and NCL’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay.
For summer 2025, Norwegian Encore will sail seven-day, round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle.
