Norwegian Cruise Line Announces Entertainment Lineup on Upcoming Ship Norwegian Viva
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the full entertainment lineup on new ship Norwegian Viva. The vessel is set to make its debut this upcoming August.
Norwegian Viva’s headlining production will be Tony Award-nominated ‘Beetlejuice The Musical’. This 90-minute Broadway adaptation of Tim Burton's 1988 film narrates the story of the Deetz family as they attempt to remodel an uproariously haunted house. Performances will be held in Norwegian Viva’s three-story multi-purpose Viva Theatre & Club.
The show will feature a number of nostalgic elements from the film, as well as performances of show tune classics like ‘Day-O’ and ‘Jump in the Line’. Michelle D'Amico, cast member of the Broadway production of ‘Beetlejuice’, will reprise her role as "Lydia" in the show’s first-at-sea rendition on Norwegian Viva.
"NCL has a history of pioneering the cruise experience and delivering the high-caliber entertainment programming our guests expect. We are dedicated to pushing the envelope, delivering on those expectations, and putting our guests first as we elevate our onboard offerings for the ultimate vacation at sea. This summer, I cannot wait to bring the fun and nostalgia of 'Beetlejuice' to our all-new Norwegian Viva," said David J. Herrera, incoming president of Norwegian Cruise Line.
In addition to 'Beetlejuice', Norwegian Viva will offer audience-focused game show ‘The Price is Right LIVE’. This show made its debut aboard Norwegian Prima last year and is already a guest favorite. Norwegian Viva will offer the cruise industry's first ‘Press Your Luck LIVE’ at-sea, an immersive experience that invites audience members to be part of the classic show and win grand prizes.
Guests traveling on Norwegian Viva will also be delighted by a number of other music and show features available on board. The Viva Theater & Club will host Vegas-style nightclub events like ‘Ocean Music Fest’ - an immersive concert experience where musicians will merge their talents on one stage. The ship will also offer a number of returning NCL guest entertainment favorites like the Improv @ Sea Comedy Club and Syd Norman's Pour House.
Norwegian Viva is the second of six vessels in Norwegian’s highly anticipated Prima class and is the sister ship to Norwegian Prima. The vessel is slated to debut in August 2023, spending its inaugural season sailing Greek Isles and Mediterranean voyages through November. Come December 2023, the ship will homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a season of Caribbean itineraries.
