Norwegian Cruise Line announced that the line's fourth Breakaway Plus-class ship will be named Norwegian Encore, and sail to the Caribbean seasonally from Miami.

During the new ship's steel-cutting ceremony at the Meyer-Werft Laser Center in Papenburg, Germany, Andy Stuart, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line said, "Norwegian Encore will be the ultimate Breakaway Plus Class vessel and we are thrilled to celebrate the start of construction for this incredible new ship."

Norwegian Encore will weigh in at 167,800 gross tons and accommodate almost 4,000 passengers. The ship is due to be delivered to NCL on October 31, 2019. Reservations will open in March 2018, with details of restaurants, accommodations, and other amenities set to be announced in the coming months.

Norwegian Encore will represent the fourth and final ship in the Breakaway Plus-class and will be the 17th ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.
