New Experiences and Dining Coming to Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that ships Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway will each undergo significant refurbishments. NCL will introduce a host of new guest experiences and elevated dining offerings to each vessel.
Updates will be made on Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway to offer more onboard guest experiences, including a brand-new cinema, dining experience, outdoor recreational concept, and extensions to popular dining venues.
“At Norwegian Cruise Line, our guests and what they value most is critical in order for us to develop experiences. Our goal is to provide them their very own best vacation,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From creating new concepts that offer more outdoor gathering spaces for making memories with friends and family, to expanding dining options that consistently bring joy to our guests across our fleet, we’re providing more to do and more to enjoy for all types of travelers.”
Norwegian Bliss Updates
Norwegian Bliss will go into dry dock from January 17, 2025, to February. 2, 2025.
When complete, guests can enjoy the addition of new venue, Horizon Park. This outdoor gathering space will have lawn-style games (think cornhole to giant Jenga) and reclining loungers. Horizon Park will have sweeping ocean views and be a space for guests to relax.
Building on the demand for the three-bedroom category in The Haven by Norwegian, Norwegian Bliss will also undergo updated accommodations for the Premiere Owner’s Suites with Large Balconies in the Brand’s ship-within-a-ship concept. These premium, top-tier suites will include three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a separate dining room, fully refurbished living areas, master bedrooms, and outdoor balcony furnishings. Additionally, part of the Norwegian Bliss’ Observation Lounge on deck 15 will be repurposed, to add 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms.
Also coming to Norwegian Bliss will be updates to eateries and public areas. Popular Cagney’s Steakhouse will be expanded, replacing Los Lobos. Teppanyaki will also be expanded, replacing Coco’s. Elevated seafood specialty restaurant Paloma will be introduced to Bliss, replacing Ocean Blue.
Once Norwegian Bliss completes its two-week dry dock, the ship will embark on a 13-day itinerary, beginning on Feb. 2, 2025, from Southampton to Miami. The ship will sail the Western Caribbean from Miami in February 2025, the Mexican Riviera in March 2025, and embark on its Alaska cruise season from Seattle starting in April 2025.
Coming to Norwegian Breakaway
Norwegian Breakaway will undergo enhancements from February 19, 2025, to March 14, 2025.
Among the highlights coming to Breakaway is the all-new Silver Screen Bistro, an immersive movie and dining venue for guests of all ages. This will replace the Spiegel Tent area. The new eatery is an industry-first concept, with comfortable, oversized recliners and retractable tables. Guests can enjoy shareable handheld menu items including select dishes from Food Republic.
Norwegian Breakaway will also offer the brand-new Horizon Park outdoor recreation area. The venue on Breakaway will boast an expansive stage for live music and entertainment.
The Stadium, which recently debuted on NCL’s Prima Class ships, will be introduced on Norwegian Breakaway. This area features complimentary outdoor activities and family-friendly games.
For dining on Norwegian Breakaway, Cagney’s Steakhouse will replace Moderno Churrascaria, and Ocean Blue will become Palomar.
Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only outdoor venue, and The Haven Sundeck will be expanded on Norwegian Breakaway to add more seating and cabanas.
Following its three-week dry dock, Norwegian Breakaway will sail itineraries from Barcelona and Venice, visiting picturesque European cities including Florence/Pisa, Palma, Cannes, and Corfu.
