MSC Cruises Headed to Alaska in 2026
MSC Cruises is headed to the Last Frontier. The cruise operator announced today that it will begin offering Alaska cruises starting in 2026, with MSC Poesia sailing from Seattle.
From May 11 - September 14, 2026, guests can set sail on MSC Cruises new 7-night Alaska itineraries. Port calls include Victoria, Juneau, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Tracy Arm Fjord. MSC Poesia is among one of MSC Cruises’ mid-sized ships, perfectly designed to explore the channels of the Inside Passage and glaciers up close.
All guests sailing with MSC Cruises in Alaska can opt for a number of new shore excursions. Highlighted options include ATV expeditions, ziplines, and whale-watching tours. Shore excursions will showcase Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage, and wildlife.
This will be the first time MSC Cruises has sailed in this region and its first time to homeport from Seattle. These new offerings mark the next stage of MSC Cruises’ expansion into the U.S. market.
"Guests from all over the world tell us they want to see Alaska's beauty firsthand, which makes these itineraries the perfect addition to MSC Cruises' global portfolio of bucket-list destinations. Seattle will be our fifth U.S. homeport, bringing our signature mix of European style and American comforts to the west coast as we continue to expand our offerings in the North American market. We look forward to welcoming guests aboard MSC Poesia, which will spend the summer cruising Alaska and move to Miami for the winter, offering opportunities for travelers to enjoy the coveted experience of transiting the Panama Canal when the ship moves between the east and west coast," said Lynn Torrent, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, MSC Cruises USA.
MSC Cruises’ new Alaska itineraries are now open for booking. MSC Poesia will also offer seasonal repositioning cruises between Miami and Seattle, with unique itineraries sailing through the iconic Panama Canal.
