Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth to Undergo Makeover Before 2025 Season
Cunard has announced a refurbishment for Queen Elizabeth, prior to the ship’s 2025 season in the Caribbean and Alaska.
Between the end of February through mid-March, the 2,000-passenger Queen Elizabeth will undergo a significant refit at the Seatrium Admiralty Yard in Singapore.
Queen Elizabeth’s makeover will feature refreshed interiors and exteriors. Signature spaces such as the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Garden Lounge, and The Pavilion will be revitalized, creating a relaxing ambiance that connects guests to the ocean.
The Grills experience, one of Cunard’s signature luxury offerings, will be elevated. Guests staying in Grills suites will enjoy the space’s enhanced interiors and exteriors, with new furnishings, sophisticated detailing, and a thoughtful design. The Grills will also be enhanced by a new special menu crafted by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux. Additionally, following Queen Elizabeth’s refit, the three-course Gala Evening menu will include new expertly curated dishes designed to celebrate the fine culinary experiences at sea.
“Crafting exclusive new menus for Cunard’s Grills guests is an extraordinary privilege. This project allows me to blend my passion for fine dining with the timeless elegance and sophistication that define the Cunard Grills experience. Each dish is carefully created to celebrate the finest ingredients, ensuring every meal is as special as the voyage itself. I’m incredibly fond of my partnership with Cunard, and I’m really excited to continue this luxury collaboration in 2025,” said Chef Roux.
Another standout feature of Queen Elizabeth’s refurbishment is the introduction of The Pavilion Wellness Café, which debuted earlier this year on Queen Anne. This wellness-focused venue serves breakfast, lunch, and daytime dining, with a menu of plant-based cuisine, and sustainably-sourced meat, fish, and dairy.
Also new to Queen Elizabeth will be the Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea program (also on Queen Anne). This program offers three-day packages for relaxation, energy restoration, and recovery.
Other key upgrades for Queen Elizabeth include a redesign of the ship’s Queens Room and the Commodore Club. Staterooms and Suites have also been enhanced. Each room will feature new in-room entertainment, USB ports, and furnishings.
“As Queen Elizabeth prepares for her highly anticipated debut seasons in the Caribbean from Miami and Alaska from Seattle, this transformation marks an exciting new chapter for Cunard. Inspired by the beauty of these extraordinary destinations, the ship’s revitalization will seamlessly blend timeless elegance with modern comforts, creating an unparalleled guest experience,” said Katie McAlister, President of Cunard.
Queen Elizabeth’s retrofit will prepare the ship for its Alaska season from Seattle in June, and a dazzling debut voyage from Miami to the Caribbean on October 16, 2025. The Caribbean season will begin with a 12-night roundtrip sailing from Miami, offering guests the chance to visit Bridgetown and Castries.
For the first time in Cunard’s history, a ship will spend a full season sailing Caribbean cruises from Miami, as Queen Elizabeth offers voyages ranging from nine to 28 nights. Guests will enjoy escapes to iconic destinations, including Montego Bay San Juan, and St John’s.
