Carnival Reveals New Spaces Coming to Celebration Key
Carnival Cruise Line has announced new details about new spaces and highlights coming to Celebration Key, its upcoming private destination coming to Great Bahamas Island. The beachfront paradise is currently slated to open to guests in July 2025.
According to the cruise line, Celebration Key will ‘honor the natural beauty and culture of Grand Bahama’. The destination will offer five separate areas called ‘portals’. These will feature the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean, a white sand beach, an exclusive adult-only private club, and other spaces for dining and family entertainment.
"No one does FUN like Carnival and we are designing Celebration Key, and its five portals, with endless ways for our guests to unlock their own kind of fun in this incredible paradise that also celebrates the beauty of Grand Bahama," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "Celebration Key is uniquely positioned to bring an island experience to our diverse range of guests, in a way that lets them choose their slice of 'paradise.'"

Following is a rundown of Celebration Key’s five new portals.
Welcome Portal - This is the point where guests enter the destination and are greeted with information to help guide their day. The portal will feature a larger-than-life sandcastle and live music.
Family-Friendly Portal - This is the place for families with kids of all ages to enjoy their time at Celebration Key. It has a large freshwater lagoon, a splash pad with a shallow pool, two racing waterslides in the large sandcastle, sports courts, spaces designed just for kids and teens, a beach with loungers/a variety of cabana rentals. This portal will also have a variety of dining options open to all visitors.
Adult-Friendly Portal - This area is designed for adults looking to spend their day enjoying the freshwater lagoon or at the beach lounging. It will have a large swim-up bar with a DJ, as well as beach cabanas and villas for rent. There are also several dining venues here, including a full-service restaurant that will offer a variety of cuisines, including local Bahamian fare.
Private Club Portal - This space is a premium experience curated for those who want a luxurious day in paradise. The Private Club is an adult-only retreat. Highlights to include an infinity pool, a dedicated section of the beach with private access, along with elevated dining experiences.
Retail Portal - This portal will showcase Bahamian culture, featuring a backdrop of beautiful murals painted by Bahamian artists and shopping that will include authentic Bahamian artisanal goods and local Bahamian retailers, along with Duty-Free stores. This portal will also have several food/beverage options serving Bahamian flavors.
Celebration Key will also include an events pavilion that is dedicated to hosting weddings, vow renewals, and other celebrations.

Ships will dock at Celebration Key at an adjacent cruise pier that can accommodate up to two of Carnival’s largest ships simultaneously. Guests will have direct access to the destination, with no need to tender.
Celebration Key is a featured destination on more than 500 cruise itineraries currently open for sale on 18 Carnival ships sailing from nine U.S. homeports.
Carnival plans to reveal more details for each portal over the coming months. Additionally, the line has indicated that there are plans for future expansion at Celebration Key for a waterpark and zipline course.
