Carnival Corporation Announces New President & CEO; Arnold Donald Appointed Vice Chair

Carnival Corporation today announced executive leadership changes. Effective August 1, 2022, Josh Weinstein, current Chief Operations Officer of the company, will assume the role of President and CEO of Carnival Corporation. Arnold Donald, current President, and Chief Executive Officer is being appointed Vice-Chair and member of the Carnival Corporation Boards of Directors. 

 

"Josh is a proven executive who is well-respected throughout the company, serving in key leadership roles, driving strong business results during his tenure, and playing an integral part in stewarding the company through the global pandemic," said Donald on Weinstein’s appointment. "Josh's thorough understanding of our industry, operations, and business strategy puts him in a tremendous position to lead the next phase of our company's journey. With his vision, intensity, and core values truly aligned to those of our company, I cannot think of anyone better suited for this role than Josh."

Weinstein has worked with Carnival Corporation for over 20 years, serving in a number of senior-level roles with the company. For the past two years, he has acted as Cheif Operations Officer overseeing global maritime, global ports and destinations, global sourcing, global IT, and global auditing. Prior to this role, he oversaw Carnival UK (operating company for P&O Cruises and Cunard) for three years as president. Weinstein acted as treasurer for Carnival Corporation from 2007 to 2017, overseeing the treasury, tax, insurance, and financial planning & analysis functions. He served as an attorney in Carnival Corporation’s corporate legal department from 2002 to 2007.

Arnold Donald has been President and CEO of Carnival Corporation since 2013. He has led the company to achieve record results, including achieving the company’s highest profits in history (pre-pandemic). Donald is also responsible for helping to bring in more efficient and environmentally advanced ships to the Carnival Corporation cruise line fleets.

Most recently, Donald has helped the company and its brands successfully navigate the global pandemic, and help to position Carnival Corporation for the future. Currently, Carnival Corporation expects each of its nine cruise line’s full fleets to operate guest cruises in 2022.
