The newest ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet, Norwegian Prima, is packed with many activities and onboard offerings for travelers of all ages. Day and night offer a wide range of entertainment options to please nearly any traveler. If you have an upcoming cruise on this ship and are sailing as a couple (or just parents looking for a day or night ‘out’), you will find several things to do onboard that are romantic, relaxing, and fun. 

In designing this vessel, Norwegian took a unique approach by offering more outdoor space than any other ship in its fleet. Cruisers will find many activities to take advantage of the sea views. 

Following are our top 6 things for couples to check out on Norwegian Prima. 

1. Take a Dip at Vibe Beach Club

The Vibe Beach Club is the adults-only, 18+ beach ‘club’ located on Deck 17 of the ship. Access to Vibe is via the purchase of a day pass, which can be pre-booked online or purchased onboard. 

Once you make it inside Vibe, you can enjoy two infinity hot tubs and a full-service bar. It’s a quiet, child-free space perfect for relaxing and soaking in the sun while enjoying the ocean views. 

2. Enjoy a Couples Treatment at Mandara Spa 

Mandara Spa is a full-service spa on Norwegian Prima. It is quite literally the most relaxing oasis on the ship. Feel the stress of the world slip away as you step inside this calming space. Offerings include a range of massages, facials, hair, nail, and other body specialty treatments. 

Couples treatments are available, where you and your partner can enjoy a spa service in the same room. Offerings include seaweed wraps, cleansing salt scrubs, and aroma stone, bamboo, or deep tissue massages. Any of these services is the perfect way to spend time together and zen out. 

At Mandara, another excellent option for couples is the Thermal Suite. Passes for the Thermal Suite can be booked daily or as a full voyage package where you can use this amenity daily. All spaces (minus locker rooms) are co-ed so that you can enjoy the experience together. 

This space offers two plunge pools and several dry and hot steam rooms and saunas, including a Himalayan salt sauna and the first-ever charcoal sauna at sea.

With access to the Thermal Suite, couples will also receive access to the relaxation room, which features heated loungers, relaxing spa music, and floor-to-ceiling windows with great views from the front of the ship. 

3. Date Night Dinner & Drinks

Norwegian Prima has eight specialty restaurants, each offering distinct themed cuisine and a uniquely designed setting. Some specialty eateries, like seafood-focused Palomar or Mexican eatery Los Lobos, offer indoor and outdoor seating. 

For date night, we recommend checking out Onda by Scarpetta (high-end Italian), Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro (fine French Cuisine), or Nama (sushi). These specialty options come with an additional fee, but the elegant experience and great food selections are worth the extra cost. 

After dinner, check out any of the numerous bars or lounges onboard Prima for an end-of-the-night cocktail(s). We recommend checking out the Observation Lounge for martinis with great views, the Whiskey Lounge in the atrium for people-watching and an Old Fashion, Syd Norman’s Pourhouse for craft beers and live music, or the Metropolitan Bar, the first cocktail bar at sea mixing up sustainable drinks. 4. Be a Kid at Heart

Just because you are cruising as an adult doesn’t mean you can’t have fun! A family-friendly ship like Norwegian Prima is the perfect place to find your ‘kid at heart’ with numerous onboard games and adrenaline-pumping activities. 

Couples looking to try something unique to Norwegian Prima should head to Prima Speedway, the first-ever three-story racetrack on a cruise ship. Go-kart race with your partner, and zip around the track for one of the most unique rides on the high seas. 

Want to challenge your sweetie to a thrill? Check out The Rush, two of the tallest slides at sea. These dueling slides zip around ten stories of the ship from deck 18 to 8. Challenge your special someone to a race down to the bottom. Daredevil couples will love The Drop, the tallest free-fall dry slide you can find at sea. 

If you’re looking for more hands-on fun, try Tee Time for interactive mini-golf or the Bull’s Eye for interactive darts. 

5. See a Show

Norwegian Prima offers more entertainment options than nearly any other ship in the line’s fleet, each of them making for a great date option for couples. At Prima Theatre, you can catch a high-energy performance show such as ‘Donna Summer the Musical’ or the ‘Noise Boys.’ You may also get to join in the fun on stage in the ship’s interactive game show ‘The Price is Right’ where you or your partner could get called to ‘come on down’ and participate for the chance to win fun prizes.

Outside the theatre, catch live music in lounges and other ship venues throughout the day. These shows are a great chance to sing and dance the night away with someone special. 

6. Find Lady Luck at the Casino

Whether you’re an expert card player or a novice at table games and slots, the casino is a fun spot onboard for couples to check out. It’s adults only, so you won’t find children or teenagers in this area on Norwegian Prima. 

Try your luck at blackjack, roulette, poker, craps, baccarat, and a number of slot machines. Still, trying to figure out how to play a game, but want to try it? Dealers are happy to explain the rules and guide you in the right direction. Be sure to check the daily program, as the casino also offers lessons during the day to help new players.
