Sail date: April 25, 2015
Cruises are famous for good service, but Celebrity exceeded my expectations. A representative far exceeded my expectations in dealing with a couple of relatively minor problems, taking ownership of the problems and staying with the problems until they were satisfactorily resolved.
I wouldn't call Celebrity understated or elegant, but the company has improved by toning down some of the forced exuberance that can be annoying on cruises. The waiters, for example, did not dance through with a conga line carrying baked Alaska. The captain did not wake up the ship with pointless announcements.
The evening entertainment was far better than any I have seen on other cruises. Even the ship's production company would not have seemed out of place in Las Vegas. The magician was great by any standard.
Our cruise was affordable, maybe even cheap. However, we did not buy many of the extras Celebrity offered. Most services not included were exorbitantly overpriced. Laundry service for a pair of socks would have been $3.
The European roulette wheel was a nice surprise, but otherwise, the casino was bad.
We would use Celebrity again. We would use again.
The Davisha, or maybe Davishi jewelry store, in Phillipsburg, was certainly pleasant.
