A Cruise to remember

I really love the Summit. It is big and beautiful. It did need a waterfall in the center to make it look prettier. the Service was awsome!!! Before you board any celebrity ship, they offer you Drinks such as fruit punch lemonade etc etc. the buffet was exquisit!!! it is a cafeteria style buffet and the food looks so tempting, You don't know what to eat first. As soon as you are done filling up your plate with all the delicious food, the wait staff is waiting to take your tray to the table for you. the buffet has many food options during the day. But, at night, they only offer pizza, spaghetti, sushi and ice cream. Because we went on a Hawaiian cruise, they had piped in Hawaiian music all throughout the ship. even in your stateroom on one of the TV. stations that shows a video of the ship as it is moving forward. the grill out by the pool had delicious hamburgers and hotdogs as well. the atmosphere in the dining room was to die for. I loved their vast food options and desserts. Most of all, I loved being served. I do recommend this ship to someone who just wants to kick back and relax. this ship is not really geared towards children. Because of Celebrity's refined and elligant service. Keep up the good work Celebrity.

A Not So Great Experience

Yes the ship was beautiful and yes it did have sweeping vistas and ocean views. but I would not recommend it to anyone who is disabled or totally blind. First of all, the stateroom attendant was not much for small talk. he was very dry and just did what he had to do, but other than that, he did do a good job in cleaning the room. Second of all. Our waiter was very unfriendly he didn't even offer to help read the menu or to help cut up my meat, and we were yelled at for being late. They did not have braille or large print menus for us at all. We needed them with me being totally blind and my husband being partially sighted he can only read large print. I can't even believe they charge $ 1.50 for instant hot chocolate. Last of all, there was not a big selection on the room service menu. I can't even believe they charge for ice cream in the icecream parlor, and it is only chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. If you want free ice cream, you can get it at the buffet, and there it is only vanilla. I would not recommend this ship to anyone unless you like being nickeled and dimed to death. Even the fruit platters weren't all that great. I didn't really care for the 24 hour buffet, Yes they did have good food but I do not go on a ship just to eat. If I get hungry later, I can just order from room service. what is the use of having room service if you can't use it

A Wonderful Cruise Experience

The Mercury was a little smaller than the Summit. I thought it was beautifully decorated, All in antique style. the decks were beautifully lit. Think of it as if you were in New Orleans. the buffet was really good. I really liked the pizza parlor located at the back of the ship. The lamps on the decks were beautiful. antique lamps. You were able to sit at the back of the ship and enjoy a nice slice of pizza or something from the buffet. Celebrity's cervice is inpecable!!!! When they say they treat you famously, they really mean it. Keep up the good work Celebrity!
