elegant but aging ship
The island destinations were a great itinerary. The service was good but you could tell that it was not top of the line. The food selection and quality were good but not what it once was. The furnishings and staterooms are showing some wear. Overall it is still a good ship.

March 2015 - 7 Night Southern Caribbean (San Juan Roundtrip) Cruise on Jewel of the Seas
Second of a back-to-back cruise.
Great service, lots of activities on ship, excellent ports-of-call. My only complaint is the cost of drinks such as the $14 Pina Colada that my wife got at the pool. Only one day at sea, so we did not do much drinking on board.

Cruise tips
One of the most colorful ports in the caribbean.
The ports were all very colorful with lots of things to do.
Did a tour of the island that was very enjoyable.
Bonaire is great for snorkeling or just exploring the island.
Navigator of the Seas
Enjoy the water park even if you don't use the flow rider or water slide.
Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)
The beach at Labadee is great.
Celebrity Infinity
Do a thorough search on prices before you book. People we talked with paid a wide range of prices.
Empress of the Seas
If you want to visit Cuba on a cruise, this is your only choice. Now that I have been to Cuba, this will be my last time on this ship because of the age and size. The good thing was the entertainment and the staff.
We viisited the Mayan Ruins. It was a great tour. We had a tour booke in advance that was discounted but cancelled. We had to rebook this tour at full price. Poor service on Royal Caribeeans part.
We did a tour of Havana. We stopped at the Colon cemetary and were there longer than needed, We had a special guide there that was boring and talked to much. Sounded like a preacher. We went to a mosaic display that I would not have ever visited on my own. We had an excellent lunch at a Cuban resturant. The coach was comfortable and we had a good guide on the bus. We did see much of Havana. The best part of the tour was a stop at Ernest Heminways home. We also made a stop at the flea market where you really had to watch there prices. Much like a Mexican flea market. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen a different tour.
Serenade of the Seas
Don't miss the shows. Use the main dining room for dinner. If you are a Diamond member, avoid the drink package. With the 5 to 8:30 happy hour, the drink package is not worth it. The pool area is crowded on sea days and most lounge chairs are saved early although RCCL does not allow it.
Grand Etang National Park is a great tour destination
Stayed in Old San Juan 2 days prior to departure. Lots of things to do and see and in easy walking distance.
Great shopping and beaches.
