Celebrity Eclipse

December 2015 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Not quite what we were expecting.

The ship was refurbished in 2015 but the cabin seemed to be very old.  The beds were poor and had a large hump in the middle when put together.  The pillows are old and got very flat and hot during the night.  The entertainment was at the best mediocre.  People got up and left after a few minutes.  (I will say one comedian was funny.)  The sound system in the theater was not much better.   The on shore time was good and shopping was a hassle but it always is in these two ports.  The food was good and they offered a great selection.  The room steward was excellent.  He always had a smile and a great attitude.  Had to leave him an extra tip because if you have prepaid gratuities, he only gets a few dollars each day.  Because the prepay was through a travel agent, I could not get a refund (we never ate in the dinning room so why pay the biggest tip to them).  Over all it was a relaxing vacation and having breakfast on our balcony each day was almost worth the vacation.

Michael did a great job of taking care of our reservations and we will be using Cruises Only many times in the future.

Norwegian Epic

April 2015 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Honeymoon Cruise

The cruise was great.  The ship was gigantic and the service on board was excellent.  We were given a cake at dinner to celebrate the occasion.  The ports were interesting (more than Carnival) due to the location of the docks.  The only complaint was the stateroom.  It was very small even though it was a family balcony room.  The beds were very short and you feet hung off at night unless you slept cross wise.  The food was exceptional and the Freestyle dinning is a great idea.  We plan another cruise later this year and will be using and will be selecting Norwegian Cruise line again.  No more carnival.

Over all it was the best out of 12 cruises we have been on.

Majesty of the Seas

Majesty of the Seas

Sail date: January 09, 2017

Cold and Rainy till the last day.

This was the worst cruise we have ever taken.  Mostly because it was cold and rainy most of the time.  Finally go to go to Coco Cay after 4 tries on other cruises.  The ship was rocky and you bounced from wall to wall going down the corridors.  The food on the buffet was very bland.  The dinning room was a little better but the crew would not leave you alone to eat.  All they were interested in was you appraisal of their work in an email.  But to give them a break they were always friendly and would go out of their way to help you.  All in all, I think it was probably the weather that caused all the problems and not the cruise lines and they could not do anything about that.  Jim and I will continue to use and we will also sail on Royal Caribbean again but never on a small ship.  I thought we were suppose to get a $25,00 on board credit.  If so, it was not on the bill.

Do not plan a vacation on this ship if there is a slight chance of rough seas.

Cozumel, Mexico

Been to Cozumel 3 times befor on Carnival and they only took you to their chopping area. This time we docked close to down town so it was a great experience.

Miami, Florida

On our return day, there ws a buike marathon and we had to walk a block with our luggage to get back into the parking garage. But it was only a small discomfort.
