Mardi Gras

January 2022 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras -- Truly a Fun Ship

We liked this ship so much, we've already booked for Feb 2023. Wanted to try the Havanna Suites, so that's what we have. Love the ship, love the crew, entertainment, etc. Just wish Carnival could figure out how to go to some different ports. But when we cruise in late winter, we are basically going to relax and get some sun (and be waited on!)

August 2017 - 11 Night Seaside Medley (New York Roundtrip) Cruise on Insignia

Norwegian Epic

January 2017 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Epic

The Epic is an ok ship. Cabin poorly designed. Ship feels closed in. Good pool area. Charge of $39.99 per person per day to use the sauna or steam room is a rip off. Complimentary dining rooms good; food good but rather heavy for my taste. Don't waste your time on Teppanyaki; LaCucina excellent. By all means do the shows; make reservations and do the premium seating for the Cirque show; probably best entertainment I've seen on a cruise. Buffet is ok but nothing special. Boarding at port canaveral is easy as is early "carry own luggage" disembarkation; took us 15 minutes to get off and go thru customs. NCL tendering process needs A LOT of work--it's confusing and it did not need to be. We had good service from steward, wait staff etc. I'll cruise NCL again but maybe a smaller ship. My next cruise is our second Oceania cruise which will spoil you.

Carnival Conquest

January 2016 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Conquest

Riviera

June 2015 - 7 Night Pearls Of The Mediterranean (Rome To Monte Carlo) Cruise on Riviera

Carnival Fascination

February 2015 - 5 Night Bahamas (Jacksonville Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Fascination

Feb Cruise on Fascination

Okay cruise; been to Nassau several times; probably won't go again.  Ship is dated, but okay.  As usual service on Carnival was excellent; food good except for Lido Deck buffet at lunch where all the food stations were extremely crowded.  We've sailed 3 times on the Fascination and had never encountered this; never got to sample the Chinese or Deli because of extremely long lines.  We thoroughly enjoyed Little Stirrup Cay; didn't know what to expect as we'd never been to one of the cruise line islands; the weather was good which helped.  The cruise met our expectation which was simply to get away just the two of us and find some sun and warmer weather.  Will definitely sail Carnival again, but probably not the Fascination.

Cruise tips

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras

Get to the Center Stage area early if you are interested in a show; it is small and if you have to sit at the back, you can't see everything. Don't miss Voodoo Moon!

Jacksonville, Florida

JaxPort is easy to get to; parking is no problem; we were one hour from hotel to lunch on board.

Nassau, Bahamas

Undergoing lots of renovation which is needed; been there several times. Probably won't go again for a few years.

Carnival Fascination

Carnival Fascination

Not sure I would spring for a suite again on this ship; not that much different than a balcony room. Save yourself a few bucks and just get the balcony classification.
