Our room was ice cold when we entered it. I tried to adjust the thermostat but it would only blow cold air. I notified our steward and he replied "no heat". I assumed it was just temporary because we were still in port. On the afternoon of day two, we could no longer stand the ice cold stateroom. We complained again and a ship person came and measured our room temperature at 70 degrees. She notified an electrician and he said it would be repaired in an hour or so. The room was warm that evening.
We found the food on this cruise not as good as the food we have experienced on past cruises. There were not as many main entrée items as we would have liked. The entrees we did choose were just mediocre. We were really disappointed in the quality of the main courses. We have sailed on Carnival in the past and the food was always good, not this time. In the future, I think we will book with Princess or Royal Caribbean.
The one positive experience was our room steward "Tom" Utomo and the female attendant "Lu". We were in stateroom 1412.

Make sure you have their APP. You have to use Menu to order breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the end of the cruise we found out you can ask for a menu.
In port on Sunday - everything closed. Did take a bus tour.
Did take a bus tour. Roads in need of repair. It was okay.
We booked a private off ship tour of San Juan and our guide Steven was outstanding. We highly recommend hiring him.

If great meals are a priority for you....be prepared for mediocre food.
