The cruise was wonderful, but embarkation and dembarkation was terrible. At embarkation all water bottles and Gatorade were confiscated without prior notice. At dembarkation someone took one of our pieces of luggage by mistake. Thankfully the person returned it, but the Carnival staff at dembarkation had me waiting for over two hours to give me my piece of luggage. The Carnival lost luggage person in charge would tell me it would be here in just a little bit. My husband and I were tired and hungry especially since it was after our lunch hour. It was not until 3:50 pm that we received our one piece of luggage. When I asked for a compensation for waiting, the Carnival Manager said all he could do was help me with my bag. I was upset because I was unable to eat and my blood sugar was low. I explanied to Bobby, the Cruise Manager, and he was not empathetically instead he questioned me why I had not told them about my blood sugar. I did not question because Vicky, lost bagge manager, told me several times that I would receive my luggage in a few minutes. This incident happened in the Galveston port.
The people in the cruise ship were great especially the international workers, but the people in the port were not very helpful and rude. I don’t think I want to take another cruise with Carnival line because of the way we were treated on Galveston port.
