Not a Luxury Cruiseline in My Estimation
The food and service were roughly comparable to the sister line, Celebrity.
I expected something special for New Year's Eve but was quite disappointed by the 'White Night' activity on the pool deck. The conditions were so bad that we were unable to get out of port that night. Then I realized the pool was the only area that could accommodate all of the passengers.
I did not consider this to be a good value for the price.

The itinerary was outstanding. But somehow I expected more. After about 20 hours total travel time, we arrived in Papeete and were boarded promptly. We were on a Oceania chartered flight by Air Tahiti Nui. We arrived at 10 PM to find that all of the restaurants and buffets were closed. Here it is the first day of the cruise and you board 200 older clients and you have no food except room service. Room service was soon swamped making it slow. Very poor planning Oceania.
If you are concierge class or above, don't expect any special treatment from Oceania. The Executive and Concierge Suites were okay. I expected a special venue for breakfast and lunch for concierge class, but there was none. The rooms are nicer, but that's about all you get.
Sirena
Don't book on the Sirena.
The wine tasting and excursion to Valparaiso was very nice.
The combo transfer and tours was well done. Our guide was very good.
Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
Very enjoyable. The ship should have provided a better means for getting the penguin pooh out of the treads or ones shoes.
We went on the Basic City Tour Excursion in Iquique in the Atacama Desert. Oceania put 25 elderly passengers coming from winter in North America on an UNAIRCONDITIONED bus with temps in the high 80s. By the time we got to town, I was soaked with sweat. I told the tour guide he needed to get the bus fixed. We did a walk around and a tour of a museum and palace. When we met up with the bus, it was not fixed. I bailed on the excursion and walked back to take the shuttle back to the ship. I complained at the excursion desk. After a non-committal initial response, Oceania sent a second written reply giving us a 25% refund. HOW GENEROUS, he said facetiously.
It was a fun if not wine tasting experience.
Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina
The excursion to Terra del Fuego National Park was outstanding.
Great place.
Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, B.V.I.
Never got there. Conditions at Kitts delayed our departure. This became a third sea day. It was understandable since you can't control the weather, but it was still disappointing.
Crowded dirty and poor. It was a stark contrast to St. Kitts.
