Carnival Ecstasy

September 2018 - 8 Night Eastern Caribbean (Charleston Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Ecstasy

Wonderful cruise under bad circumstances. Had the worry of hurricane Florence all week. Not for us but for family back home in NC. The weather was nearly perfect. The food was delicious. The desserts on Lido deck were much improved from previous years. Guy Burger joint has the most amazing cheeseburgers. Our servers at night were wonderful in Windsong- Shawn, Avalon, and Marvan! The food every night was amazing! Our steward Salmon was fantastic as well. Hopefully Carnival cruise #10 coming up next year!

Carnival Conquest

September 2017 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Conquest

We returned from our cruise yesterday. This was our 8th Carnival cruise and we had a wonderful time. Let's start with the cons. The Ft Lauderdale Port was a nightmare to embark and disembark. We arrived at the scheduled time and waited in two different lines for over 2 hours. Someone said the Port had no internet and had to manually entered everyone's information. Getting off the ship wasn't as bad but still we had to wait in a long line to get off. This all too much longer than in any other Port we have been to. Due to hurricane Maria, three of our four ports were changed. We were disappointed that we did not go to Aruba but Jamaica was beautiful. Carnival really needs to step up their desserts on Lido. They are pretty to look at but most are horrible and extremely disappointing. Our steward was a little disappointing. His attention to detail was lacking but he turned down the bed beautifully each night. Unlike all our other cruises, I don't think he knew our names. The Conquest is in need of some serious refurbishing. Lots of rust and signs of wear all over the ship but I understand she is going into dry dock soon. Now to the Pros. The food in the Monet dining room was fabulous every night! Our servers Alvin, Tianna, and Meiqin became like family to us by the end of the week! The shows were outstanding! The singers and dancers were so talented and the shows were crazy good! The drinks at the back pool were perfect! We plan on continuing to sail with Carnival and are working on Platinum status! Oh and the cruise director Peter McGarth was very entertaining!
