Very upset with NCL on this cruise
This was our 22nd cruise, my wife chose it for our 40th Wedding anniversary. part of the cruise was comped by the casino because of our rate of play. overall ship was nice, food was sub-par, cabin butler was poor, person went over the rail on 16th deck and ended up on the bar on the 8th deck where he passed away. Now the details: we stayed in Haven Suite 14732, cabin steward was always very nice and handled all of our needs. Cabin Butler failed to tell us about a few items that go along with our suite, such as the haven area on the ship, we found this out by accident ourselves on day 3 of the cruise. the haven area has it's own private restaurant, private pool, sun area and spa. again our Butler, failed to tell us about these details. The ship has to many restaurants and some of the ones we visited were sub-par. The steak house was nice as was the Brazilian restaurant, walked away feeling good about these. The French restaurant was a joke, I ordered lamb loins and when they delivered my dish, there were 3 loins about the size of a quarter and 5 lima beans, was asked how I enjoyed my dinner and I asked what dinner, I haven't been served yet. A French restaurant without a soufflé or crepe's ? Italian restaurant was a joke as well. We had a person who went over the rail on the 16th deck running from security and ended up on the Sunset bar on the 8th deck, talk about a spoiler on a vacation, when you see this right in front of you. Security could have handled this much different, and for the rest of the week we had to be reminded each time we looked out our cabin and seen the tarps draped over the areas. had an issue with a few folks at the dice table that didn't like the way I play dice (I play the house way) meaning I want a seven when everyone else doesn't, seven I win, seven they loose. a person at the dice table insulted my wife over the way I play and I had to get security involved. Each day I made purchases on the ship and I would track the purchases on my online banking, at the end of the week I spent $9,000.00 on the ship. What the cruise company did was deduct the full amount again and left the pre-approvals sitting out there for a week. when I get to Miami to spend a week I use my card and it gets declined, because the cruise line has a hold of $18,000.00 on my card. I never received a statement in my cabin, was told by public relations for NCL that those pre-approvals would drop off my card in 5-7 days, I asked them for a letter to support this so I could fax to my bank and they would release the $9,000.00 hold was told we couldn't get a letter for 3 days as they haven't downloaded the information from the ship yet. of the 21 prior cruises this ranks towards the bottom. Very Disappointed in NCL.
