May 2016 - Carnival Imagination to Mexico
We would recommend this cruise as a short getaway, and for people who have never been on a cruise and want to experience a cruise for the first time. Unfortunately, the weather on our cruise was not the best (overcast and cool). The crew was friendly, helpful, and kept the ship neat and clean. We have cruised before on other cruise lines and knew not to expect top notch food or stateroom. Overall the room was comfortable, but basic. Some of the food was cool, and over seasoned. On our first night in the dining room, we requested a bottle of wine before dinner and after several minutes were told that they were out of stock. We chose another bottle of wine and as our dinner was being served, the wine steward showed up with a bottle of wine from the correct winery, but not what we requested because the second one we requested was also out of stock. By that time, we refused the wine, and completed our dinner and moved on to the evening entertainment. After that evening we chose mainly from the list of wines that you can purchase for inside your cabin, and they were always available. The entertainment was not top notch either, although we did enjoy the two comedians that performed each evening. This is truly a family cruise, and is geared for families with children. One saving grace was the Serenity Deck, which is for adults only. It gave everyone over 21 a place to go without fighting with a dozen children for space in a whirlpool.
