Norwegian Breakaway

July 2017 - 7 Night Bermuda (New York Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Just got off the Breakaway. We had a great time. Easy embarkation. Went straight up to the 15th floor to the Garden Cafe. Might skip that next time as it was crazy busy and there are other dining options before your room is ready. Grab a lounge chair and enjoy the sail away party and don't miss the NYC skyline and The Statue of Liberty. We had 2 rooms, a balcony forward 12 and inside stateroom for the kids. Being a family of 5 is challenging sometimes. Great location near the stairs and elevators. We did not have any food reservations except for one night for Hibachi. SO MUCH FUN!! We walked right into The Manhattan Room, Taste and Savor whenever we wanted. Same menu at all 3 places. Breakfast was ok. Eggs are runny so I just had my eggs made to order at the omlet station. Walk out towards the pool area for a quiet, scenic breakfast or go up to Margaritaville for a quiet breakfast.( there is a buffet there but no omlet station) Had to get up and get lounge chairs by 6:45.... people put towels on chairs and never come back. (Annoying) always get a chair under the upper deck for the occasional rain shower. Entertainment was awesome! Burn the Floor and Rock of Ages were great. AND, the actors can be seen around the ship mingling with guests. DO NOT MISS Howl at the Moon!!!!!! So much fun. There is always something to do. Spice H2O has great dancing every night. O'Sheehans is great for a late night snack. And the ice cream is always flowing in the garden cafe!! Don't miss Horseshoe Bay Beach. We got 2 day bus/ferry pass. There is a street fair in Hamilton on Wednesday nights from 7-10. Take the ferry. We also visited Crystal Caves and rented Jet Skis from A company near Somerset Bridge. They only take 5 skis out at a time. We had 17 people in our group so we charted our boat for a snorkel trip, right by the ship. There will always be people behaving badly.... but just ignored them.... we would go back for sure!

Pride of America

August 2016 - 7 Night Hawaii (Honolulu Roundtrip) Cruise on Pride of America

This is by far the best way to get a feel for all of the islands so that you can go back and visit your fav in the future. Ship was okay. There was a smell in some parts of the ship. We smelled it on the deck 8. If I had a room near that smell I would have complained big time. The food was good. Best place to eat breakfast is on deck 12 but at the rear of the ship. Wish we discovered that sooner. We enjoyed the 50'cafe that was open 24 hours. My husband loved the wings there. We only ate one sit down dinner. Definitely rent a car on Maui, Hilo and Kauai. Do some research and explore on your own. We biked down Mt Haleakala, but we booked it ourselves and did the midday tour on the second day in Maui. We skipped the road to Hana and explores beaches on our own and rented snorkel equipment from Snorkel Bobs that we used all week. Definitely stay extra in Oahu. Visit Pearl Harbor. Check out Diamond Head and the North Shore. Wish we had snorkeled at Hanauma Bay. We stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is huge with a resort feel.
