Norwegian Epic

September 2017 - Norwegian Epic to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Terrific Mediterranian Cruise

My husband and I cruise at least once a year. Our favorite line is NCL. We really enjoy the freestyle dining as well as NCL's entertainment. I do like some of their other ships more than the Epic but we thoroughly enjoyed this cruise.

Radiance of the Seas

April 2015 - Radiance of the Seas to South Pacific

18 day Sydney to Honolulu

Our cruise started with finding out we were arriving a day earlier than we had originally expected. Our itinerary given to us online stated our arrival as May 7th but when getting on shipboard we found out that our arrival was May 6th. This ended up costing us an additional $500.

The waters were rough but that wasn't really a problem. The New Zealand stops were good but not great. The 3 French Polynesian ports were great. Loved Bora Bora!! To many days at sea. The Cruise Director was terrible. He did not plan the onboard entertainment well, as far as the music around the ship or the timing of many of the programs. Such as planning a Main Show at 7:45, which meant the 8pm diners could not see the show at all. He planned the Mega-cruisers (emerald, diamond, etc members) event at 7:45pm which was also the same time as one of his 7:45 shows. So we had so skip a good show to go to this. We went and the entertainment was just one of his regular groups that you can see around the ship. A couple of officers came around to meet a few of us. The said hello and chatted a bit. They didn't introduce themselves or ask our names (RUDE). The captain came out, said hello, introduced a crew member who had served 20 yrs and another who had served 5 yrs. He didn't introduce their supervisors who were standing with (RUDE). Then he left. There were drinks and a few snacks. The drinks and snacks were served as you arrived but not brought around after you were seated (NOT GOOD). I have been to others on other Royal Caribbean ships which were much much nicer and had special entertainment such as ballet dancers and they were in the daytime so that you didn't miss any nighttime entertainment. VERY POORLY PLANNED AND EXECUTED!!

Food was good but to many curry dishes and in the buffet it was often the same everyday.

Service was outstanding!!

Room Steward was terrific in every way possible. Always smiling and helpful.

Main Dining Room was wonderful and the staff was Awesome!! Food there was great!!

We will never go on another 18 day cruise because it is simply to long and to many days at sea for us.

Brilliance of the Seas

May 2013 - Brilliance of the Seas to Europe - Northern Europe

Fantastic 12 day Baltic Cruise

My husband and I took the most fantastic Baltic Cruise out of Harwich, GB. Our ports included the most fantastic ports we have ever visited. The Brilliance is a beautiful ship with a wonderful and helpful staff. My husband and I are both handicapped and many of the staff went out of their way to make our cruise very comfortable and enjoyable. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the dining room were fabulous. They were excellent at predicting our wants and needs. The servers in the other eating areas were very helpful, caring our plates and getting our drinks and other needs. We would like to see the eating area "Rita's Cantina" open for lunch as well as dinner and made more accessible as well as better marketed and fully enclosed. My husband and I would love to sail on this ship again to another area.

snoangl123's Tips

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy - One of the most wonderful cities in the world !!! No excursion here. We took the train to Rome and then hired a taxi around Rome and the Vatican. My husband uses a wheelchair and this was such a comfortable way for us to visit Rome !! What a fantastic city. We saw the Coliseum, the Vatican, St Peter, Piazza Venezia, and more statues than you can count.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy - We took the Pisa and Trolley tour which was wheelchair friendly. Pisa is Awesome !! The Square of Miracles is where the trolley dropped us off. Our guide showed us the leaning tower, ancient monumental cemetery, the Baptistry, and The Cathedral of Santa Maria. There were also various shops and eateries. We had plenty of time to tour all of this on our own. Then we met back where we started to take the trolley back to the bus and return to the ship. A beautiful City and wonderful excursion.
Barcelona, Spain - This was a post cruise tour which ended at The Hotel Mount Blanc. Wonderful city ! The 4 hour tour of the city showed us many of the buildings in Barcelona and telling a lot of the history of the city. The tour then went to "Sagrada Familia". After that we asked to stay on the bus and the bus driver agreed to take us on to the hotel while the others continued with the tour. We stayed in Barcelona for an additional 3 days. Beautiful city with lots to see and do. Wonderful restaurants and fabulous restaurants plus very friendly people. The people at the Mount Blanc Hotel were very helpful and the room included breakfast daily. There was a lovely swimming pool on the second floor.
Naples, Italy - Views of Naples excursion. Wonderful port. Tremendous architecture !!
Copenhagen, Denmark - Raining but beautiful, saw the Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson
Brilliance of the Seas Brilliance of the Seas - Go to the solarium for lunch (excellent). Go to the solarium late for a swim and Jacuzzi, it's very relaxing and a good way the prepare for sleep.
