We have disembarked in San Diego many times. There has never been a long delay going through immigration and customs, when that process was handled in the port building on the ground, instead of on the ship.

I am an experienced cruiser, and we chose this cruise because of the ports being visited...Panama Canal. This was the first cruise with Holland America. We will cruise again, but we will be choosing a different cruise line.

The weather was warm which was the primary reason for taking the cruise. Nice itinerary and the staff we encountered during the trip were outstanding.

We enjoyed our cruise (very relaxing)! Reserving a clam shell with chairs was a great way to enjoy Half Moon Cay! Snorkeling was nice in Grand Cayman (beautiful fish)! Main dining room meals were outstanding! We would like to see Holland America offer snack or some food items in the evening as we were often a bit hungry after the shows and food areas were often closed or closing around 8:30pm (since we had early seating for dinner, we were often a bit hungry in the evening). All in all, we enjoyed our cruise!

Love cruising on Holland America, staff is always friendly, very accommodating. We were traveling with our daughter and husband and friends.

We have done many cruises with other companies but all were over 10 years ago. If this is what the cruise industry has gone to it is down hill. We used to be pampered and you could have high expectations that would be exceeded. Now, not so much. The value is there since everything is covered and you can choose whether or not you want to spend more. Just don’t have high expectations and it will probably be good.

I just don't think that the management at Holland America are customer friendly and they take short cuts. Having been on an Oceana cruise in the past, maybe we are spoiled. Their handling of the cabin smell and the lack of quality customer service ruined a much anticipated holiday for me and my wife. I blame Holland America for their lack of caring about anything but the bottom line. We actually paid extra for suite amenities, but were treated like we were the cheapest passengers.... I would never try to buy a 'discounted bargain' from these folks. You may end up in a row boat.

This was our 11th cruise with HAL and most likely the last. The dining room is always a very sad experience. During EVERY cruise the staff just can't get the requested table right. For this cruise we requested a seating at 7:45pm and a table for FOUR. So, what did they do? They placed us at a table for SIX. The food as always was luke warm at best. Most nights it seemed like it was a chore for the staff to even bring us our meal without complaining about this or that. The ship's "feeling" was less then stellar and when that happens in a company it usually starts at the top and works its way down the line. Stay away from this ship until they get their act together and remember that its clients that pay their salaries.

The staff on the cruise was truly spectacular. All smiles and very helpful. I appreciate how attentive everybody was to questions and asks.

Was very dissatisfied. Limited food selection and taste were a big issue. It was very cold on the ship and this was a complaint throughout for many of the cruisers. Our biggest issue, was no heat in our room for the first 3 days and the ship was cold. They tried on several occasions to fix it, but only offered us extra blankets. Finally fixed day 3. Wasted a bunch of our vacation time trying to get this issue resolved

We picked this cruise primarily for the ports of call. Holland America will not be on our top 3 when looking for our next cruise for sure.

While I do not fault HA and I had read the reviews, I was surprised at the lack of activities for more active people. There were a lot of wheelchairs, walkers, scooters. There was way too much emphasis on jewelry and spa and we got more advertisements in our stateroom than we do junk mail at home in the same period. Too much and definitely not eco-friendly! Also felt nickel and dimed to death. Everything seemed to have an extra charge. There could have been more informational discussions, e.g. the history of the Caribbean, Haiti and Cuba when we sailed past them. BBC Earth was very limited and disappointing. They do have a great selection of movies in the staterooms which was good because there wasn't much else to do.

Overall, we really enjoyed this ship, the service, entertainment, food, and itinerary. I would highly recommend it.

If you like older people and no activities after 11:00 pm, this is the cruise for you. Entertainment was scheduled at the same time. Repetitive food unless you want to pay extra. And no late night dining.

Awful. Old, dilapidated ship that needs to be retired. Unsafe ports.

The Panama Canal and Costa Rica are both fabulous and make the cruise worthwhile. Other than that most ports are similar and nothing very special.

It was our first time cruising on Holland American Line and we will definitely cruise with her again. We had an absolutely wonderful experience and were able to see lots of the fall foliage.

I loved Quebec and NE. The ship experience was a disappointment. Very senior crowd on Holland. Would not cruise with them again.
