My husband and two boys, ages 9 and 10, went on the Zenith during Spring Break/Easter, March 31 - April 7, 2002. We arrived at the port early and were surprised to be allowed to go through embarkation and board the ship around 11:30 am. There were muffins and danish available immediately in the Windsurf Cafe and we had a very short wait for a most wonderful lunch buffet. There wasn't one hour in any day that food was not available somewhere on the ship. The food and service were splendid. We had a small table just for our family and loved all the attention to detail in the Caravelle Restaurant. It was fine dining at best and our boys enjoyed using their best table manners (with a few pointers from Mom and Dad on which stainless ware to use). Our young son celebrated a birthday while on board and the restaurant staff made it very special with a personal cake and song. We were truly entertained each evening in the Celebrity Show Lounge. Our children opted out of some of the shows so as not to miss any of the amazing children's activities that were planned. The ship imported from Canada many additional youth counselors for this particular week. Of the 1,600 passengers, over 600 were children of all ages. They were kept busy from 9 am until midnight each day. During the two formal nights, children could opt to have a casual meal with the youth counselors. There was also an alternative dining area during the formal and informal nights. Our cabin, with a window, was very comfortable and didn't seem to be too cramped. We all stayed in one cabin with two upper and two lower beds. My husband commented that even though the ship was full, you could always find a quiet area to rest or read. I participated in seminars ranging from skin-care to weight loss. There was something for everyone on this ship. The cruise directors were truly awesome. I'm just wondering if all Celebrity cruises are this terrific or just this particular ship.
