The Zenith Experience - A masterpiece

Sail Date: January 01, 2007

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Just returned from an 11 day Eastern Caribbean aboard the Zenith. What the Zenith lacked in size and amenities (as was read by a few other posters) it more than made up for in dining, service and overall cruise experience. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a glass of champagne then escorted to our stateroom to the final farewell, this was a cruise which exceeded our expectations. The only thing we encountered that was negative was the news that the grand ole Zenith will be sold, its last voyage with Celebrity April 2007. I dont know if this crew is this good all the time or if they are pulling out all the stops to go out with a bang, but whatever it is all we have to say is: Wow. What an incredible crew, what an amazing cruise ship family.

Pros: Treated like a celebrity

Cons: It had to end

Recommends Zenith (RETIRED) 62? Yes!

Ship Quality
We wanted comfort, convenience and peace and quiet. We found that the size and layout of this ship met our desires perfectly. What this ship may lack in grand mega ship amenities it makes up for in attention to detail and a genuine desire to take care of its guests.
Food and Dining
World class dining staff, food quality and presentation. The pride and drive of this Zenith crew to want to be the best of the best was evident every hour of every day.
Cabin / Stateroom
Outside stateroom was very big with ample space for everything we needed for a family of three. Our stateroom attendant was great.
Service and Staff
World Class. period
We heard that the entertainment would be marginal at best. We were pleasantly surprised. The ship performers were outstanding. The pianist was unbelievably good. There were lots of planned activities and the entertainment staff was always upbeat and engaging.
Children's Programs
We had our nine year old with us. This was the weakest aspect of the cruise...but not because of the staff or the programs (all were excellent) but because of the limited number of kids on this particular cruise. Despite this small number, the staff was outstanding and bent over backwards to give our child much attention and care.
