We were stunned to see the Dale Chihuly ceiling in the dining room. Some decor is tacky, but we were impressed overall. The ship is kept very clean. They had people cleaning handrails, etc, constantly to prevent illness.

This was our 13th cruise with all different cruise lines. It was far and away the best. The decor was gorgeous and not gaudy overdone like others - just undestated elegance. The crew was extremely friendly - especially front office who we have found to not be very friendly on other ships. The food was wonderful. Although cruises are known for their great food, we found the Westerdam food to be even consistently better than others. The entertainment was the best we've ever seen on a cruise. Their embark and debark procedures we smooth and quick. We were actually on the ship and at the buffet by 12:30 - the earliest we were ever able to board. And the let you wait in you cabin on the last day until you're called to debark.

This ship is a floating luxury hotel. You don't have to do anything. The crew is anxious to please and cleans the ship constantly. It was a delightful escape from the everyday world of rushing, laundry, cooking & cleaning. There are plenty of great activities, but you don't have to do anything you don't want to. We loved Joel Mason(Elton John impersonator). The private island is paradise. The food is great!

The ship was beautiful. The rooms were roomy enough but did not have enough storage space or perhaps I brought too much clothing. Everything was easy to find once you knew the layout and the different sides of the ship. Everything was conveniently located off the elevators.

Very clean. Excellent service. Crew trained/informed to accommodate. Seems as if they enjoy the work mostly, rather than a chore or working for a paycheck. As mentioned above, one or two ports had too many ships docked at the same time, causing more crowds than previous cruises, but overall things worked out and ok.

The Westerdam provided everything we (a family group of six adults) wanted as far as appearence and efficiency. We loved the dining and the ports visited. We opted for the economy inside rooms and were pleased with the space and the service. The nightly entertainment was great.

This was my first cruise and it was fantastic! Within 30 minutes after leaving port, I was sea sick. My first evening, which was my birthday, was spent praying the the ship would stop rocking and asking my friend to ask the captain for a helicopter to take me off the ship, but with the help of my friend and the wonderful crew of the Westerdam, I was feeling better within a couple of hours and was fine by the next morning. Of course, I took sea sick pills the remainder of the cruise and was fine. The 2nd day of the cruise the weather was so rough that we could not dock in our first port of call. That really wasn't a problem since the cruise director came up with additional activities for the entire ship for that day. There was something for everyone on board --- from an Art show, the Spa, the pools, the casino and a lot of different games. The remainder of the ports that we visited were very interesting and we sailed some of the most beautiful waters I have ever seen. The crew was absolutely great --- so friendly and helpful. The Shows --- they were awesome!! The food was fantastic -- from dining in elegance to buffet --there was every type of food that anyone could want and it was excellent. The passengers were some of the nicest people I have every met and enjoyed sharing time and stories with some of them. This is one of the few vacations that I have taken that I really felt like I was on vacation -- in fact, I felt like a Queen -- a Queen, not just for a day, but a Queen for the seven days of the cruise. I hope to go again very soon!!

We had just been on this same ship for an Alaskan cruise less than 7 months ago and had a great time. When we saw the the Westerdam was now sailing in the Caribbean, ( and it was cold in Denver) , we decided to try the "southern" version. It was just as good the second time around.

This was my 15th cruise. The ship was pretty, ane had some small touches that were nice. However I was expecting incredible service. One morning in the lido my husband asked a crew member if he could clean a table (it was normal to find dirty tables), and he said no. We were eating and another crew member vacummed UNDER our feet. This is the first cruise where the crew seemed to click together, as opposed to being friendly and chatting with the vactioners.

only thing I found wrong is the smoking. we could not go there only one day they had no smoking in the casino.

Excellent- clean and good service

It was very clean and kept that way. The room was exceptional. Bed was wonderful. Bathroom was large and well arranged.

We were disappointed with food quality and service,they were wonderful in 2003 (before they were bought by carnival).Now Hal has sales people pushing products in the gym at the pool in the lido. Everything we disliked about carnival is now replicated on Holland America,it's a shame.

TRIP of A LIFETIME !!!!!!! Everything from booking the trip thru to the flight arrangemnt home went ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. An Alaskan cruise was something my wife and I always dreamed of so when the time came to actually go our expectations were, shall we say, EXTREME. All I can say is that the actual trip even blew away our high expectations. From the minute we stepped on the plane to head for Seattle (from Boston) everything went like clockwork. Everything was taken care of. Thru Holland Cruise lines the arrangements were made for flights, an extra night in Seattle, ALL transfers, and of course, the cruise itself. The cruise itself was amazing. I have been on cruises before but this was our first one on Holland Cruise Ship and the experience THE BEST. The service was, as with our past cruising experiences, was great but there was something different with this cruise. There was a true personal "family" like feeling that spread from the staff thru to the passengers.

My husband and I have been on many cruises, and have enjoyed them all. However this cruise was our best yet. We had wonderful service, wonderful food, fantastic customer service!!!

Beautiful ship, friendly crew, excellent food and good entertainment is what cruising is all about. The Westerdam is a hit!

The ship was very clean. The people on board both crew and other passengers alike were terrific. Very organized.

This Holland ship was beatiful and new. The staff was very attentive to your needs. The food was fabulous and of course Alaska is beautiful. Our Holland side trips were well done, some more than others. The ship, the Westerdam, came very close to the Hubbord Glacier and that had to be the highlight of our trip.

We recently sailed on the Westerdam for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience.We knew the ship had been refurbished but we had no idea what to expect. We really enjoyed the holland america style and service, did not disappoint. Two new dining choices were really excellent. We loved all the nightlife options that were family friendly. The shows were great. Our stateroom was Big and had some new features (really liked having a shower and sperate tub with jets). Lots of storage felt, like there was room for everything. Overall we have to say the ship was impressive. Try a suite ther extra service is great.
