We cruised with two adults and two adult children. We booked a veranda stateroom with an interior state room across the hall. This was a good set up for a family of four.

The staff on the ship was exceptional. Everyone was very helpful\, friendly\, and accommodating.

We would've liked to have spent more time in port. Interestingly\, the ships from several cruise lines traveled together from port to port\, and they all stayed in port about the same length of time. It appears that you will have a similar experience in Alaska with most of the cruise lines. The difference in your experience on the Alaska cruise is likely to be your experience on the ship itself. Holland America ship was very nice\, the food was good\, but the staff was a standout.
