Not a Memorable Cruise

Sail Date: November 01, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

They started off badly by sailing late and blaming it on the port, but they have been in this business for many years and should be able to manage the process better. Management of shore excursions was poor at best, especially in Grand Cayman where they had passengers confined to a small area on the pier in direct sun (80 degrees) for extended periods of time waiting for their excursions to begin boarding. Poor organization in the Lido deck restaurant. Poor organization for photo opportunities with limited times and poorly selected locations. Our worst experience in 14 cruises with different cruise lines. Our first and probably last on Royal Caribbean.

Pros: The staff was great.

Cons: Totally disorganized from beginning to end.

Recommends Voyager of the Seas? No.

Service and Staff
Staff was great in all areas of the ship. The dining room staff was superb.
Entertainment
We enjoyed some of the entertainment and found plenty of things to do that we enjoyed. The theater enterainment was not as good as some cruises we have been on before.
Food and Dining
The dining room experience/food was very good but the buffet was average at best. The buffet opened late in the mornings with very limited availibility of food items.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was clean and well maintained. We had a balcony stateroom that was not unlike other cruise line's balcony state rooms.
Ship Quality
A very nice ship, well maintained and clean. The shop promenade was a wonderful area although crowded when they put sales table in the promenade area.
