Our Transatlantic Crossing

The ship was clean and beautiful. The food was fantastic. The Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding. My compliments to the chefs. Captain Gary was probably the most friendly guy I have had the fortune to meet. He even took part in one of the shows as he plays the steel guitar. How wonderful it is when a Captain really takes the time to meet and greet people every day.
Our ports of call were outstanding even though we ended up on the wrong tour. We were graciously refunded the differerance between the two. The sites in Lisboa were great and the history of the country was told to us by a great tour operator. In Madiera (Funchal) we toured the top of the mountains with a tram ride to the top and a sled ride down. How exciting the sled ride was as two gentlemen were behind us with ropes to the sled to control it and using their feet to slow us down. This was an invigorating ride! Something that should not be missed by anyone visiting Funchal.
The ships crew were outstanding and went out of their way to help everyone who needed those endless questions answered the first few days.

The ships was estremely clean and with just under 3,000 passengers for the crossing no one appeared to be sick. Hooray for Royal Carribbean Cruise Line for taking care of their passengers. I will note that all areas that had food also had machines for sanitizing your hands before entering. What a great innovative idea.
We've been on many cruises in the past and I would truly state that this was one of my favorites.

Pros: The many days relaxing on the ship at sea. The smooth waters with gentle waves. The sounds out on deck soothing the soul. The entertainment was fantastic and brought back memories from years past. The Thanksgiving dinner was extrodinary exquisite. The parade on the promenarde deck was enchantin

Cons: The delays boarding the ship upon arrival. Life boat drills too soon after boarding.
