Glad to revisit the Voyager, we were very excited to make our reservations.

Leaving from the port of Galvaston, we were delayed due to fog. Before embarking, we were held in a terminal for several hours until the ship could dock. The cruiseline did a good job of making the best of the situation and got us on the ship as soon as possible. Still, due to fog, we could not leave until 2:15 a.m. the following day. The captain did a great job and we arrived at our first port on time. On the last day we were unable to go on deck due to high winds.

My husband and I sailed on the Voyager in 2000, shortly after it was built. We could see clearly that cut backs have taken place. Staffing, food, entertainment, etc.

Recommends Voyager of the Seas? Yes!

Entertainment
The entertainment was overall not good. The ice skating was great, but we did not walk away saying, "That was great." Mostly our comments were, "That was ok." We expected more from Royal.
Ship Quality
Love the size of the ship; getting around was relatively easy. Public areas were always clean -- except walking through the smoking area near the pool. The stench of the smoke was always evident even if no one was smoking.
Food and Dining
Food was average at best. We found that the selections were very limited and the quality was only average. Very disappointing. Previously, the selection was better and the quality of food was far superior.

We were very disappointed that there was no midnight buffet. In 2000, we entered on the 5th floor of the dining rooms to view the spectacular arrangements from above, then we proceeded down to the 4th floor where we could help ourselves. That activity has been completely cut back.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was always clean. Our room steward did a great job and was always available.

The fixtures in the bathroom of the cabin are the same with no updates. The brass is worn off the sink, there was a shelf in the bathroom closet missing, and the door to the bathroom closet was loose (my husband fixed it while we were there.)
Service and Staff
The cruise director was THE BEST! Full of energy, fun, helpful. In general people were helpful and always willing to answer questions and assist in any way.
