"Can't wait for our next cruise with RC"

Sail Date: April 08, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Suite

We were very impressed with the Voyager (RC). It is such a large ship, holds many people, and there is so much to do on board.

Pros: outstanding service, organization and good food.

Cons: waiting in lines to board ship.

Children's Programs
Unfortunately, my children wouldn't go to any children's programs (ages 7 and 12); however, they had a good time with us (mom and dad) attending shows and events, and doing excursions on islands.
Ship Quality
We loved shopping every evening in the Promenade. The decor of the ship was very nice, and the bathrooms (public) were always clean. We enjoyed being on one of the largest ships (voyager) because it was exciting to walk around and explore new areas.
Service and Staff
We were quite apprehensive about our 7-year-old son and his food allergies, but our head waiter and waiter did an excellent job handling his situation. We really enjoyed our room attendant and the rest of the staff. The children enjoyed learning about the countries they are from.
Food and Dining
Our assigned dining table was located next to a window which was great for us. We loved having all the courses served to us so pleasantly. We enjoyed it so much that we ate in the dining room every night. 6:00 seating was fine for us, 8:30 would have been too late for our family. Sometimes we were full from a late lunch after our excursions; however, we made it to the dining room every evening and still kept eating! (yes, we all put on a few pounds after this trip). The Windjammer cafe was fine for eating--if you are in a hurry and enjoy buffet style.
Cabin / Stateroom
Junior Suite was a perfect size for our family of four. We were on the aft end and the balcony overlooked a 12-foot deck before we could see the ocean, which was fine for us because of safety and children. The aft end tends to be a little noisy. It was choppy and I could hear the engine pretty well.
My daughter and I really enjoyed watching the evening shows. The ice show was amazing, and the "love and marriage" game was hilarious.
Cozumel, Mexico
Didn't get a chance to go to the beach because we were shopping all day.
Don't Miss: shopping!!!!
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Just hanging out on the island, shopping and eating was relaxing. We loved this island. Our son loved the wild lizards.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Climbing Dunn River's Falls---a crazy, but must do, experience. Our son loved the jungle at Dolphin Cove (he got to pet the snake and inguana).
Don't Miss: Dunn River's Falls.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Expensive shops.
Don't Miss: Swimming with stingrays, although quite scary.
