Review summary

The cruise was an awesome experience, however, the one thing that needs to be changed in my opinion is the alcohol packages. Everyone 21 and over in the same statement under the same booking number must purchase a package, you cannot just purchase packages for those who want them, everyone 21 and older will have to purchase a package. I do not drink ANY alcoholic beverages but my husband does, I should not be required to purchase an alcohol package because my husband who drinks purchases one. I do not drink and its a waste of money.

It rained during our stop in Bermuda, therefore, we did not do any excursions. We did, however, visit the local mall/stores and picked up a few souvenirs.

You can always pay per drink, and probably drink less. I drink, but believe the drink packages promote drinking to excess.

It is how they make money. If you don’t drink it’s $$$ in their pocket. He could pay per drink also. There is always options, we just don’t always like them.

You don't have to buy the drink package! If your husband drinks, and you don't, then have your husband pay per drink - it will be cheaper that way. People act like they can only drink with the drink package, when a lot of times, it's cheaper just to pay per drink.

I know a couple that cruised on Royal, she wanted the drink package but her husband doesn’t drink any alcohol. She called them and they let him buy just the soda package.

You can call Royal and explain your situation. They have granted exemptions but you may have to purchase a lesser drink package.

The simple explanation that all must buy the drink package is that everyone would only buy one drink package and order drinks for those who didn't. It would be very difficult to control
