The leaves haven't yet changed much. Portland and Halifax were really great. I felt at home in Portland.

Review summary

As the 1st time going up to Canada, we had to get accumulated to the different ways things worked. After the Boston tour, we knew to buy tickets for the hop on and hop off. The train ride in Portland was a nice change of pace. Very entertaining and a good tour guide.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
A little wait for Canada to give permission to disembark, but worked out soon after

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great bartenders, Robert at the Windjammer was fantastic as always. Friendly staff and room attendant

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Some were repeat performances, but the Eagles tribute was great

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always working and cleaning. Always very polite. The room steward (Komi) was great and friendly. Mukesh (spelling) from India on the pool level was a fantastic bartender and very knowledgeable. As always Robert in the Windjammer is so friendly and seems to know everyone especially passengers from previous cruises (don't let him leave!!!!!!)

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always cleaning and making repairs to keep everyone happy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The showers are a little small, but manageable. The room attendant had my distilled water and extension cord in the room before we got there for my CPAP machine. How much better can you get with that?

Ship tip

Love the smaller ships. You run into the same people you've talked with previously. RC needs to make more smaller ones instead of the gigantic ones.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
Moved thru fast. Friendly staff

Boston, Massachusetts

4 out of 5
Not fond of large cities, but this had it's moments on the hop on hop off. We didn't make reservations, but it all worked out

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
I fell in love with this city as soon as I got off the ship. I felt at home. The restaurants were crowded because of 2 ships in port, but we found a restaurant without waiting

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Love the Moose head stop on the hop on and hop off tour. The tour guide was good, but things seemed a little rushed

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Loved this port also. We bought the hop on hop off bus tour. Very good tour guide

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Got off the ship ahead of scheduled. The self assist line was backed up, but moved fast once the port was opened

Traveler Photos

Great place to stop on the hop on hop off and drink a couple of cold freshly made beer. You just can't beat Robert's friendlyness and compassion

We took this ship in August and went to the ports you did, but at the time Bar Harbor was on the itinerary. The only 2 places we went through the ship for excursions were in Canada. Glad you had a Royal of a time.
