We had a great time for our first cruise. A good enough time that we will consider it again. I believe that Royal Caribbean International is a first class Cruise Line.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation on the ship went very smoothly. All the personnel seemed glad to see us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We found the main dining room and all the other food service locations on the ship quite nice and all the food seemed fresh and well prepared. Having the deluxe drink package was a good idea.
Windjammer Marketplace
5 out of 5
We ended up eating most of our meals here because of the variety of food that was available. From the great breakfast offerings to the dinner selections there was something for all my taste.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed sitting around the pool and sitting in the hot tub.
We enjoyed various events such as: Finish that Lyric, Battle of the Sexes, Visiting the Art Gallery Auction, The Egg Drop Contest, Line Dancing, Music Quiz, Towel Folding Demonstration.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The productions were first class all the way. As a professional musician the back up band was excellent the dancers and singers were as good as one would see anywhere. The set designs and sound quality was also excellent. I think there could have been more shows but I do understand all that goes into putting something like that on.
Juanito piano playing was excellent, very musical and great selection. the Marakas Trio was also good.
Masquerade Theater
5 out of 5
This was one of the best parts of the trip for me. I felt that this was as professional as anything I have seen. All aspects of the productions from the sets, to lighting, musicians, dancers, singers and sound engineer were all excellent.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Denny our room steward was excellent at treating us as first class passengers. He knew our name from day one and shared with us some of the towel creatures. I found all the personnel in the food service areas very polite and willing to do what every was needed.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Just seeing people cleaning though out the crews showed that the workers on the Vision of the Seas really care about their work environment.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
One hears stories about the rooms being so small but we didn't find that to be a problem at all. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was very clean. Denny Marindo made sure we had what every we needed. The bathroom was adequate for us and hot water was always available. Fresh towel were always available if needed. I have no complaints about the cabin.
Ship tip
Come on Board and expect to have a great time, don't think about sea sickness.
Be willing to say Hi to all you meet and enjoy all the activities that take place and don't miss the productions in the Masquerade Theatre.
Unfortunately the day we arrived it was raining. We did go to the shops located close to the boat and that was enjoyable. We didn't do any excursions. I believe the next time we will.
