First off, a little about us. My wife and I have been married for a couple years andt this was our first cruise. We basically chose the cruiseline based on personal recommendations.
1. Going to Mexico during the winter months (we're from Oregon) was definitely a good reason to head down south for a week.
2. The staff was awesome, very nice.
3. The buffet kept us happy. It took less than 1/2 hour to get our food and eat and leave our mess behind :)
4. Not having to do dishes or make food!
5. Mints on the pillow!
6. The nightly entertainment was great! They had dancing shows and comedians (VERY funny.)
1.The weather. (Obviously not their fault)
2. Cruise director was a little annoying, but what do you expect? Ha ha.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was great! They had a nice selection of food. The first night we went to the more formal dining area. We were seated with another young couple. We aren't much of talkers, but they certainly were. This was a deal breaker. We would either like to sit with friends we've known or by ourselves. Everyone is different! The food was definitely gourmet, which is not something we are used to. If you go out to eat at nice restaurants at home where a meal costs $25+ per plate, you will like this sit-down dining. This dinner takes about 1.5 hours start to finish. We would rather have done something else with that much time. After that night, every meal was eaten at the buffet. "Buffet" makes it sound bad, but the food was REALLY good. Surprisingly, most of the food was pretty healthy. Not that you go on a cruise to start a healthy lifestyle, but it was very easy to maintain one while splurging here and there. There was only ONE time where there was any kind of a line. It was 3 people long

We did many extra activities, including dancing classes. Start earning those shipshape dollars so you can 'buy' stuff at the end. We got a water bottle and two nice sport towels! It was fun doing the activities. Some were low-key while others were high energy. All the activity leaders were fun and not overly energetic or annoying.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
(I did mark this as N/A at first.) There were quite a few kids on the ship, but they were never bothersome to us. This means one of two things: either they were all well behaved (yeah right!) or the cruise had plenty of things for them to do. Definitely the second.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was awesome. They were nice without being overbearing. I would feel comfortable asking for something even if they didn't ask. One cool thing: our cruise had an international crew representing of 50 countries! We never met one that wasn't courteous or happy to be there.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean ship. Not the nicest or newest, but definitely very clean! All the areas were easily accessible. Nothing was worn out or broken. The ship was kept in *very* good condition.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an interior room. It was small but cozy. We were glad to NOT have upgraded to a balcony or suite. We only went to our room to:
1. Sleep
2. Nap
3. Drop off purchases
4. Change clothes

The room was kept very clean and there was a mint on each pillow every night. I loved it!

Pros: We loved how pretty much everything was included in the cost of the cruise.

Cons: The cruise wasn't long enough! Our only complaint! :)

Recommends Vision of the Seas? Yes!
