Review SummaryWe missed the connection in Seattle due to a flight delay, then as our next port was Juneau, we flew there. Due to a US maritime law called the Jones Act, we were not allowed to board- something to do with foreign made ships (all cruise ships, I believe!) and protecting the US shipping industry- I don't begin to understand. We stood on the outside of our ship, not able to board! How disappointing. Our flight had been planned for an early morning but the time was changed without our knowledge or consultation, and then on top of that, the last leg was delayed- thus causing our missed connection. My best advice for those going to book your own flight separate from the cruise (which was $1000 cheaper per person for us) is to fly in the night before! This was a significant loss for us financially, not to mention the bummer of missing our cruise.
Ports of Call
Don't Miss: The Tram view and/or Glacier Gardens overviews of the city and beautiful scenery.
Pros: The potential
Cons: The Jones Act which wouldn't let us board after we flew to the next port!!!
