Too much emphasis was put on getting cruisers to buy art and jewelry. Loved our day in Puerto Vallarta in the Rio Cuale/River Cafe/Conchas Chinas area. Wish they would eliminate Cabo with the need for tender boats to go ashore (sentiment was shared with fellow cruisers).
After this cruise, we felt that even as a couple aged 59 and 80, we are not as conservative as most other cruisers (many of the clothes I brought were not conservative enough to wear).
Our upgraded room with it's balcony and great location near elevators is really what saved the cruise for us, enabling us to spend many enjoyable hours in our room when the ship was at sea, reading books from the on- ship library (a luxury we can't find time for at home), dancing in the Viking Lounge on 11. We enjoyed getting to know our late dining table-mates. We didn't find any of the entertainment worth going to, other than Viking Lounge, Schooner Lounge, one Art class.

Food and Dining

Dining by pool (Solarium Cafe) was a joke....dried up hamburgers..pulls overall average down sadly. Windjammer was closed for cleaning a lot of the time. Dinner in The Aquarius was pretty good, but not what I expected...(I used to be co-owner of a restaurant, so I am spoiled).

too many art auctions, jewelry stands, mediocre in-house entertainment. Rhapsody of the Seas 2000 had the Coasters, so we are spoiled. The Viking Lounge on 11 (hard to find) saved the cruise, being the youthful (59 and 80 year old) cruisers we are, we love to dance!!!!

Service and Staff

Great in Schooner LOunge and Viking Lounge. Not good in Windjammer Cafe....staff was more interested in chatting with people they knew and blocked access for the rest of us, having to get our own coffee, etc. Didn't clear off dirty dishes. (Would have never considered leaving a tip in that area).

Ship Quality

Loved decor, very clean....a bit difficult to find things....They could integrate directions into decor a little better. We didn't like outdoor pool seemed cold and un-inviting.

Cabin / Stateroom

Large, could use a little pizazz in the bathroom....but overall, colors were cheerful, clean. Loved our huge balcony with room for table/2 chairs!!!! Lots of storage for stuff. Loved our location close to the elevators.

They should skip this port....just stuff for sale..... and who really wants to have to ride a tender into this is extremely ugly....nothing green.
Don't Miss: nothing!

This port made the cruise for us....we love the River Cafe and the Rio Cuale walk/shops. The Conchas Chinas area just south of PV is beautiful especially up in the hills above...(taxi took us there).
Don't Miss: The Rio Cuale/River Cafe

walk along the beach/parasail, don't go to Senor Frogs!!!!!
Don't Miss: the beach is fun to walk on

Pros: Our Upgraded Stateroom with Huge Balcony Saved the Cruise for Us!

Cons: Couldn't Understand ALL the Hype for Buying Art and Jewelry

Recommends Vision of the Seas? No.
