Vision of he Sea

Sail Date: July 01, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

There was something wrong with the operations of this ship. For example: there was no control over the vast number of children. They were allowed to roam the ship like gangs. The bar service was almost nonexistent - we had to go to the bar for our own drinks most of the time. The dining was a little better but some food was stale. The pursers office did not deliver our final account until the morning of departure and it was shoved into the door. My birthday occurred during the cruise and arrangements had been made for a small cake delivered to our dining room table - it was completely forgotten( there ws a seperate charge too). In short Vision of the Sea was terribly managed in almost every way.

Pros: scenery of Alaska

Cons: Vision of the Sea

Ship Quality
The spa facilities were almost non existent. There were no areas for adults only
Food and Dining
With a New York strip steak they served french frys
Cabin / Stateroom
The first thing we saw upon entering our stateroom was the bed - it was sunk down in the middle. We did not get a good nights sleep because of the poor quality of the mattress.
Children's Programs
there was no control over the children. The chilren detracted from our enjoyment of the cruise
Service and Staff
Some staff were on the ball but just as many displayed an obviously bad attitude.
Victoria, British Columbia

Don't Miss: There is no part of this ship that rates a "don't miss"
Skagway, Alaska
I spent a great deal of money on a shore excursion that claimed to see lots of wildlife. We saw none.
Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska
Juneau, Alaska
