Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The first thing you'll hear is that this ship is old in its decor, and while the rooms decor is dated at times with those bulk buy comforters, you can't find one thing wrong with its staff. If you want to feel like a movie star, this is the place and these are the people to do it. Our family's comfort was their desire. There wasn't anything we couldn't ask for that they would find. The food in the main dining room was spectacular and something that shouldn't be missed. RCCL's employeed are phenomenal, and we'll do this cruise again just because of that!

Pros: The Crew of Vision of the Seas was absolutely top notch!

Cons: Kids menus and room service selection is very limited and with time constraints.

Food and Dining
The main dining room has superior food. Not just good, but incredible. The buffet is okay. Breakfast is the best, although they did away with the omelet station which kind of kills it. We purchased the soft drink package and it is a nighmare to get someone to bring you a soft drink - anywhere. Note that the package does not apply to the bars or room service. You'll have to pay for those drinks....why I don't know?
Cabin / Stateroom
Our balcony stateroom was very nice. Its shaped like a galley and both the bed and pull out coach for the kids was comfortable. We were at the FRONT of the ship and it wasn't bad at all. Again, someone hire a decorator please!
Ship Quality
Room decor does not get high marks, but overall this ship is beautiful.
Service and Staff
Ray was our attendant. Let me tell you how perfect he was; when we left our son cried because he said he hated leaving friends behind. The staff is wonderful and does go out of their way.
We couldn't do it all in 7 days, they had so much going on.
Children's Programs
Their kids program directors were fabulous! As a mother I'm always amazed at other people who have the patience to deal with children, well mannered or obnoxious. The program directors we dealt with were writing their thesis on children with autism. Two of them wanted to be teachers. How RCCL got that lucky we may never know.
