NOT THE BEST ONE
Veendam Cruise Review to Bermuda

Review summary
I was very excited about spending three nights in Hamilton! This was our third cruise to Bermuda since 2007 and it was love at first sight! So the expectations were very high! Some disappointments - the ship is quite old and it showed. All
the time some repairs were going on (since 5 a.m.) - banging and painting and closing half the deck. Then we were VERY unfortunate to stay in the harbor for
Bermuda Day -May 24. The day was lost for us and all the plans couldn't be fulfilled. It was extremely noisy and crowded and the buses didn't run on a regular schedule and the passengers were not informed properly. For example
we were told that the Botanical Gardens were open (I asked) and they kind of were because there is no fence, but all the facilities were closed and nobody to
ask any questions! So we had to return to the ship. Decided to take a taxi but the poor guy couldn't reach the destination and took us back to the bus stop!
The front street was not only undrivable but unwalkable! I understand it was a great day for Bermudians but the ship didn't prepare properly! Did they think the elderly passengers would be equally thrilled? And the next morning half the toilettes didn't work! Fortunately they we fixed. So we (and a lot of others) were disappointed. Not to mention the stained walls in our cabin.
What was good were the staff - waiters and cabin cleaners and stewards! They worked very hard to make our vacation satisfactory.
